A review is a summary, analysis and an evaluation of a text resulting in

an opinion or judgement. Reviews aim to summarise and analyse a text,
and assess its appeal and value to its audience.

Structure of a Review:
• Context and Background Information: Title, author/artist/
composer, and a brief summary of the topic, issue or thing.
• Text Description: Analysis of characters, settings, descriptions,
themes, graphics, actors, genre, producer, etc.
• Conclusion: Evaluation and recommendation.

Background was published in 1952. It is a children’s classic which features themes
of self-belief, confidence, friendships, and trust. Even though it was
published over 50 years ago, it is still being enjoyed by millions of
children today.

lives. After her father saves a young pig, who was the runt of the litter,
from being slaughtered, Fern takes responsibility for raising the pig,
