dear associate

in view of the earlier performances of the students in the


campus drives conducted by satyam computer services limited through
cpm, we are here with providing some instructions and tips to get better
results. as satyam is one of the massive recruiter and all other
companies are at the final stages of their recruitment process for this
academic year (2007 passed outs) it is advisable for the candidates to come
prepared for the process.

based on the previous observations the results were not up


to the mark may be because of the following reasons.

1.poor performance due to lack of awareness regarding the pattern and


the topics they need to

stress for the written test, etc.,


2.due to lack of seriousness in campus recruitments.
3.due to lack of technical knowledge.

satyam pattern

every student has to undergo 3 rounds in satyam drives to get


recruited into the company.

written test:

the written test is for 30 min which


consists of 15 questions where they will cover the topics such as coding
and decoding, simple and compound interest ,profit and loss, problems
on trains, time and work, time and distance, blood relations, series
completion, percentages, puzzle test and some reasoning .

they need to prepare from the following books where


all the required stuff is available.

1.quantitative aptitude by r.s agarwal.


2.verbal and non-verbal reasoning by r.s.agarwal (schand publications).

note: students are advised to attempt only those question which they
are confident and which can be solved in less time only as there is
1/4th negative marking. the maximum cutoff would be 6. so, please do not
attempt all the questions using flukes, as there may be an upper cutoff
at times.

group discussion:

the gd is for 10 min and 2min will be given for


preparing the points and every group consists of 8 to 10 members. maximum
filtering is done at this stage, so they need to concentrate more the gd
evaluation consists of the following parameters.

1.clarity of thought:
here they will check whether the candidate is aware of the topic or
he/she is deviating from the topic.

2.ability to interact within the group:


here they will check whether the candidate is interacting with the
group or not i.e the candidate may have the points but he/she is unable to
interact with the group.

3.communication skills:
generally the candidates thinks that good communication skills means
using high frequency words and slang .these are not the considerations ,
they will check whether they are giving the points with good sentence
formation and giving the points continuously without any gaps or not.

4.capability to coordinate and lead:


when the gd is going on and if one of the candidate is unable to grab a
chance to give the points then if you help the candidate by giving a
chance for them saying�€ ok friends let us give a chance to our
friend..(name).�€and here you need to specify the candidate�€
™s name. this
adds a point for you as it shows your coordination and leadership
qualities.

at times the gd may be turned into a debate and at


this moment if you can get back the original whether it adds a point to
you. so, if there arises such a situation grab a chance.

note: candidates are advised to carefully observe and follow the


above parameters .every student should acquire at least 3 points from the
above 4 parameters, and communication skills is must i.e. in that
parameter you should attain a point and from the rest of the parameters you
should gain 2 points.

as this is a highly filtering round grab a chance to initiate


and conclude and at least you need to interfere a minimum of 3 times.
this helps you to be in a safe side.

interview:

the interview is a technical cum hr round. here the scale


is 5 points for each parameter.
first they will give you a form where u need to fill it in the
form of a resume and you should be confident about whatever you fill in
this.

1.basic concepts:

here you need to prepare the basic concepts


computer fundamentals, c concepts like simple programs, pointes,
structures and unions, sorting and searching techniques, dbms concepts like
primary key, secondary key, normalization forms(important),sql queries,
software engineering concepts like sdlc(software development life
cycle).these subjects are common to any branch students.

2.ability to grasp:

they will test the candidate whether he/she is able to grasp the new
task or not .if they will give any new task you will be able to do that
one.

3.communication skills:
they will observe the way you react and the way you are answering with
good sentence formation, continuously without any gaps or thinking for
more time. this is mainly considered in the hr point of view.

4.achievement orientation:

if any achievement kept in your resume you have to


show the particular certificates or any proofs. this is mainly considered
in the hr point of view.

note: whatever you fill in the resume you should be confident,


perfect and prepare accordingly. as we have already mentioned that the scale
is of 5 points and a minimum of 3 points are required for the candidate
to be selected. and you should be confident while answering and
don�€™t
feel tensed and don�€™t answer with shivering and with breaks.

nd now pic one ball from second.wats the probabilty that it would be an orange
ball?
11.a clock gains 55 mins in a day nd is set 2day at 12 noon thn after 2 weeks how
much it will gain?

i hd attempted only 8 ques nd i feel cut of was around 5-6.

after written they hd selected 495 out of which only 23 r mca's rest all r
enginerring students.

2nd round:
gd:
they made groups of 10.
our topic:indian education vs. foreign education.
from our group 8 got selected, its really unbelivable.
just remain calm and boldely give ur points.
three are with indian nd all others r with foregin.
the lady who is watching us even stopped us in between twice once for not to look
at her nd secondly asked us why we are fighting, bt finally she had given gud
results 8 out of 10 raelly awesome.
219 out of 495 in total.

then we filled the form which they hd given us.fill that properly bcz in interview
they asked a lot from that.
interview :
it was a general talk.
the panel which interviewed me hv a female(hr) and male(technical).they are really
too cool and soft spoken.
