Issues Faced in Conventional Methods

Membrane
• Higher capital and operating costs. based system
• Complex operation because of too many equipment C
• Larger footprint.
Conventional System
• Time required for stabilization
• Anaerobic system requires 2-3 months to stabilize
• Biological systems are sensitive to changes in temperature, pH and and prone
to fluctuations in performance

Conclusion

• Conventional distillery condensate treatment methods have concerns like

higher capital and operating costs, larger footprint, and longer time needed for
stabilization.
• In membrane-based treatment methods the distillery condensate is treated
directly in the membrane. This makes the operation simpler, low on capital and
operating costs & footprint.
• Hydranautics has developed membranes to handle high organic loads.
