Ninja Focus

A class activity to build student attention

spans and reduce the ability to be
distracted!

The Ninja Focus Game
is an excellent way to teach your students about how to
focus and ignore distractions.

As you continue to play it, the students will start to “feel”

what it is like; to filter out distractions in their
environment.

Sometimes in the middle of a station lesson I have heard

some of the kids encourage each other with comments
like; “C’mon Sam focus like a ninja!” and it helps the
student finish the task.
Ninja Focus Activity Directions;
1. Print and laminate Ninja Look Poster.
2. Have students stand behind their desks. Place the Ninja Look Poster on the
board in front of the room.
3. Have your students widen their stances with one foot slightly behind the other
and fists up in a punching position.
4. When you say “Go”, they have to keep their eyes on the Ninja Look Poster
while you walk around the classroom and try to distract them to either look at
you or laugh. Note the time.
5. Give specific feedback; “John, even though I am making noise behind you, you
are able to concentrate and focus and not look at me”
6. As the students laugh or turn to look at you they loose their turn and have to sit
down.
7. The last person standing is the Ninja Focus Warrior of the Day. They get to sign
the accompanying poster with the date next to their name.
