FOODBANK USE IS ON THE RISE!

UK foodbank use continues to rise due to greater cuts in spending on local services, the
roll out of Universal Credit and the current increase in unemployment rates. People
have been pushed into poverty and are relying on local food banks to feed themselves
and their families. Relying on charitable donations, food banks support people who
struggle to afford to buy enough food to eat.

The manager of a local food bank has recently made an appeal for food donations:
" We have seen an increase in the number of people who are using our service. As a
charity, we rely on the goodwill of the local the community. Please, if you can spare
anything, help us to support families in need."
