However, the initial costs are higher comparing with our initial quotations which were done in May 2019. The prices for all costs of keeping the layers has since gone up by more than 500%. The cost of the feeds for keeping the layers will only cater for one month after which’the sales (Revenue) which comes from the sale of eggs will cover the cost of the feed. In addition the revenue will cover general expenses such as allowances for Khudamm’s who are involved in keeping the chickens and about 20% of the revenue will be reserved for Khudammul’s activities. This will entail that the Khudammut will be able to improve their coffers thereby not depending on handouts. Our expected revenue from the sales of eggs totaled to USD 1000.00 per month and an expected monthly cost will go down to USD 680.00 due to discount which will be given to us by our suppliers. Furthermore, the cost of building the structure we are going to do it on our own. Per day we are expecting to harvest thirteen (13) crates of eggs and ten extra eggs, and monthly we are expecting to harvest 400 crates and the cost of one crate in the market is USD 2.50 which will translate to USD 1000.00 total revenue. In addition, six Khudammal will be involved in keeping the chickens directly, but all in all the project will also benefit other Khudammul's who are not directly involved in the project. Our hope and prayer is that you will be able to assist us to kick start this important project to benefit individuals and Jamaat in general. Second Priority Project: Chicken Broilers Chicken broilers is our second option for poultry project since there is high demand for chicken ‘meat around our community. However, there are a lot of people who are keeping chickens for hence the market is flooded. The initial cost totaled to USD1 008.00 (RTGS 6 555.40) inclusive of all the initial requirements. However, the monthly costs are likely to go down sharply after the harvest of the first batch of chicken to about USD 470.00 per six weeks as a result of discounts of feeds which our suppliers will offer us. In addition, other initial costs such as, Hitet, Max Bi protect etc. will not be involved in the second batch. Our expected revenue from selling 200 broiler chickens will be USD 7009.00 after six weeks since the chickens are sold for USD 3.50 each in the market. Like in layers project we can also built our own structure and only four Khadimms will be directly involved in broiler keeping. However, in all two projects our difficulties will be the diseases such as Bird flu, which are hampering most of chicken projects around the country therefore, we are expected to keep on ‘guard so that our project progress successful.
