Modalities approved by Competent authority for recruitment of Mining Sirdar & Dy

Surveyor under SRD against notification no 3343 dated 22-01-2019

1. Written Examination procedure
a. The written examination will be held at Bilaspur, CG under the overall supervision of the
Selection Committee supported by Officials of SECL and staff of Manpower department,
Bilaspur.
b. Written examination will be done with OMR sheet.
c. Total marks proposed for recruitment of Mining Sirdar & Dy Surveyor will be as under:
 Written Examination - 100 Marks, Time: 2.00 hrs.
-Pass Marks for (OBC) - 40 i.e 40%
-Pass Marks for (SC/ST) - 35 i.e 35%
a. Sitting arrangements for written test will be displayed on the Notice Board of examination Centre.

2. Question paper

a. The test will be of 100 questions. Each question will carry 01 mark. The questions will be of MCQ
pattern. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The question paper will consists of 75
questions from the subject/syllabus and 10 questions pertaining to knowledge about Coal Companies
and 15 marks for General Knowledge.
b. The sealed question papers will be opened by the Chairman of the Selection Committee in presence of
other Committee Members.
c. Sealing of Answer sheets:Immediately after completion of the written examination, all the OMR
answer sheets will be sealed in presence of selection committee and to be signed by the committee
members on the envelops with set A & B separately.
3. Evaluation of Answer Sheets:

a. The evaluation of answer sheet will be done with the OMR scanner; there will be no negative
marking for wrong answers.

4. TA for SC/ST candidates:

2nd class train fare/ Bus fare by the shortest route will be reimburse to SC/ST candidates on
production of proof of journey for attending the written examination as per the rule.

5. Merit List:
a. The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in written examination only by the
candidates.
b. In case, more than one candidate secure same marks in aggregate, their merit list will be prepared
as per following priority:-

For Mining Sirdar

a. Date of Birth of the candidate
b. Seniority as per date of issue of statutory certificate (i.e Mining Sirdar,/Overman/2 nd class)
from DGMS
c. Date of issue of Gas Testing certificate
 For Dy Surveyor
a. Date of Birth of the candidate
b. Date of issue of survey certificate of competency from DGMS
6.. Wrong Question:

In the event of wrong question in the question paper, the said question will not be considered for
evaluation of marks.
7. Decision of the Selection Committee:
For any ambiguity/clarification or dispute arises during the selection process decision of the selection
committee will be final and binding on all concerned.
8. Rescheduling of dates:
Due to exigency or unavoidable situation if any change in the schedule date becomes inevitable, proposal
to this effect with reason for change of date may be put up before Director (P), SECL Bilaspur for
approval.
