Batangas (Balisong capital of the Philippines) -Also known as butterfly knife. Derive
from “bali” means broken and “sungay”
means horn. This is a type of knife that
can be folded closed like a fan and comes
in different sizes.
- Proponents of the French origin of
butterfly knife argue that Spain, allied
with France at the time, adopted the
butterfly knife in their tasks and took it to
the Philippines as sailors sailed to
different countries. Sounds reasonable,
but hasn’t been proven.
