To the Graduate Application Review Committee,

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Ramsharan Pandey. I have
known him for more than 2 years. MECHANICS OF SOLID and MACHINE DESIGN were
courses he attended in my class. He was also quite enthusiastic in machine
system analysis, design and automation. Throughout the class, I found him
attentive and interactive. His diligence and organized nature towards
learning were admirable.
I got chance to know him better during his final year project as the project
supervisor. He used to meet for holding discussions on the topic to carry out
the Final Year project in such topic that shall solve common problem in the
country. His well preparedness before discussing any subject matter and his
viewpoint towards solving any problem fascinated me. He took a practical
approach in dealing/solving those issues. He came with this idea to extract
juice from apples after he found that apples have been going waste in the
country. By that finding, he envisioned to construct a system that could
commercialize apple farming. He shared the ultimate target to erect such
system in the large scale. His entrepreneurial spirit became known to me. I
was not surprised to know that he has already started an engineering firm
with his colleagues.
He was thorough in the literature review based on cider technology. As a
result the concept reviewed under multiple occasions until a geographically
suitable approach was reached. He along with his project members reached to
relevant places and distances to collect more insights about indigenous cider
technology. He was the leader of his project group in which his inputs were
visibly commendable. There were design works, fabrication, and testing of the
machine. The detailed economic analysis from the project reveals that such
industry is a possibility in the country.
I find him quite motivated in every of his undertakings and his determination
to achieve his aim. His innovative ideas could make a difference in poor and
underdeveloped country like Nepal under proper guidance. He bore all the
essential characteristics that would make him succeed in his graduate studies
and fulfill the degree requirements. He would be a reliable asset for any
faculty he works under.
Mr. Pandey is a worthy candidate for MS in the Agricultural and Biological
Engineering. His involvement in the project related to the similar field, his
interests to get involved in such research activities later, and his
undoubted perseverance and creativity is what makes him such candidate. The
upkeep of his studies with the technological developments will also be
helpful for his success in his graduate study. I would, therefore, highly
recommend him.
If I can be of any further assistance to you, please feel free to contact me.
Yours Sincerely,
Sunil Adhikari
