Lining material for abrasion protection.

ABRESIST is fused cast natural basalt that is available in form of tiles, individual shapes and
cylinders.

• Chemical composition: 46 % SiO2

14 % Al2 O3
14 % Fe2O3 und FeO
10 % CaO
10 % MgO

• Hardness 8 Mohs (diamond = 10)

• Density 2,8 g/cm³

• Water absorption 0 weight-%

• Compressive strength 450 MPa (20 °C)

• Bending strength 30 MPa (20 °C)

• Therm. coefficient of expansion 7 x 10-6 K-1 (20 °C – 350 °C)

• Thermal conductivity 1 W/mK (20 °C – 350 °C)

• Max. application temperature 350 °C

• Max. thermal shock resistance 70 °C/h

Product quality
Due to the manufacturing process variations in the product properties may be expected. These
variations may include, but are not limited to, tolerances of dimension, surface finish, chipping, voids,
porosity and hairline fractures.
