HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT

INTRO
How to make a perfect intro?

We want to provide our customers the best candidates for their projects, and in order to succeed,
they also need to know that you really would be a missing piece of their team/project. Therefore, on
top of the CV, we always ask our candidates to write an intro that is customized based on
customer’s/project’s requirements. With the intro text we want to ensure, the customer knows you
would be a perfect match for the project.

The perfect intro answers the following questions: Why are you the perfect match? Why should they
choose you? What is the additional value you can provide to the customer? In order to success, lift up
the following match:

● Skills versus requirements! Be clear of the skills you have in comparison to the customer’s
requirements. If the customer is looking for a Java Developer, lift up your Java skills and give
an example of the project you’ve been working with Java. If they’re looking for a project
manager, tell them about your project management experience. The best way to convince is to
answer the exact thing the customer has required in the project description.
● Remember the role! You might be an expert in many roles, domains and technologies.
However, the customer has some special area they need your help for. Remember that area
and make it clear in the introduction. If the customer is looking for a frontend developer,
ensure that they easily understand that you enjoy working on the frontend side and that’s
something you’re expert at.
● Consultative approach and added value! There is a reason why a customer wants to choose a
consultant instead of recruiting an expert of their own. Lift up the added value of what they’ll
get if choosing you instead of investing to hire more inhouse people. The added value can e.g.
be your large-scaled experience / expertise of something that is lacking at customer’s.

All in all - be yourself and show what you can, with these you’ll rock!

Example 1: Customer is looking for a full-stack developer with Node and React skills.

I have 8 years of experience from full-stack development. For the past three years, I have been doing
a lot of Node and React with TypeScript specifically, both in professional and in side projects. These
services have often been containerized and deployed to the cloud, usually to ECS, but I am no
stranger to Kubernetes either.

I am also very comfortable with Terraform at this point, having used it in scale for the past 2 years.
Building and tuning CI/CD pipelines is something that I have been doing on a regular basis.

I take pride in my profession and I always set very high standards for the quality of the work that I do.

Fluent English speaker, previous experience working in international teams.

Example 2: Customer is looking for developer with .NET/C# & Azure skills.

I'm an experienced product development professional with broad technical and people skills. My
primary development tools have been .NET/C#, Microsoft SQL and Azure on the backend. In the
frontend, I've worked with various JavaScript frameworks, including Angular and React. I'm a quick
learner with excellent problem-solving skills, and I can dive into new projects at a fast pace. My
holistic knowledge of how good software is built is my most significant asset, and I can contribute to
the bigger picture when necessary.
