ASKING AND GIVING OPINION

Asking and Giving Opinion ialah suatu ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menanyakan, menjawab
atau merespon suatu pendapat. Dalam Opinion, biasanya terdapat beberapa kata kerja yang
digunakan antara lain believe (percaya), reckon (memperhitungkan), think (rasa/pikir), doubt
(meragukan), assume (berasumsi), agree (setuju), atau don’t agree (tidak setuju).

Berikut ini saya berikan beberapa contoh kalimat tentang bagaimana seseorang bertanya atau
memberikan pendapatnya :

Contoh Agreeing dan Disagreeing Opinion

Setiap pendapat atau opini yang dikemukakan seseorang tentu ada yang menyetujuinya dan
ada juga yang tidak menyetujuinya. Dalam bahasa Inggris disebut dengan Agreeing and
Disagreeing Opinion. Berikut ini beberapa contoh pengungkapannya

Agreeing with an Opinion (Menyetujui Pendapat)

• Of course.
• This is absolutely right.
• I agree with this opinion.
• I agree with your Opinion.
• That’s a good point.
• Neither do I.
• I think so too.
• I couldn’t agree more.
• I couldn’t agree more.
• I agree with what you are saying.
• I agree, I never thought of that.

Disagreeing with an Opinion (Menolak/Tidak Menyetujui Pendapat)

• I am sorry, I don’t agree with you. • That’s not the same thing at all.
• I can’t say I agree with this, and here’s why….. • I am not sure I agree with you.
• I do not believe that. • I am afraid I have to disagree with you.
• By this I mean….. • It is not justified to say so.
• I disagree with you. • I am not convinced that….
• I think you are wrong. • I don’t agree with you.
Contoh Dialog Tentang Materi Asking and Giving Opinion

Dialog 1

Andi : Hi Angga?
Angga: Hi Andi?
Angga: Have you heard about violance in Senior High School Taruna Palembang?
And i: Yes, I got information on television last night.
Angga: What is your comment?
Andi : My comment is the senior is very brutal.
Angga: I think so, I hope next time there is no incident about it again and no more
seniority again.

In Sunday morning, suddenly Anisa met Fitria at the Corner Street

Anisa : Hi Fitria, you look very tidy today. Where are you go?
Fitria : Hi Anisa. I will go to traditional market then I will visit “Candi Joglo”
Anisa : that’s a great choice. By the way, May I follow you?
Fitria : No problem, come on!
Anisa : Hahaha, I Just kidding.

Anisa : yes, I do. I visited two week ago.
