a minimum of two two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire party for fire-
fighter's communication shall be carried on board.  Those two-way portable radiotelephone
apparatus shall be of an explosion-proof type or intrinsically safe. Ships constructed before
1 July 2014 shall comply with the requirements of this paragraph not later than the first
survey after 1 July 2018.

ESP Code Amendments to 20111 ESP Code - Enclosed space entry - ESP is based on IACS Unified Res. MSC 405(96) NE
Requirements UR Z10.1, UR Z10.2, UR Z10.4 and UR Z10.5. These amendments update the
ESP Code to make reference to the new resolution A.1050(27) which is also concerned with
enclosed space entry. These amendments will help ensure harmonization between the IMO
and IACS requirements.
