history of Our National Anthem.
Activity 1:
 The students will read over the information provided for them through this
site.
 They will learn the words to Our National Anthem and sing it for their
parents at a PTO meeting.

 This site is an overview of the bald eagle: Habitat, Diet, Anatomy, Nest
and Eggs.
Activity 1:
 The student’s activity will be to color a picture of the bald eagle using this
site as a guide for what colors to color the bald eagle.
 On completion of their coloring the class will be asked to click on “More
Information on Eagles.”
 After reading this information the students will be asked to take a quiz
using the site to answer the questions.
 In the closing of this lesson the class will take a field trip to the Rapture
Center on the Georgia Southern University campus to visit bald eagles in
person.

4. When was the White House originally built?
5. When did the White House burn down?
6. Who burned it down?
7. Who was the first US President to live in the White House?
8. When was the White House completely remodeled, making it
structurally sound?

 These two sites in combination will inform the students in my class of the
history of the Liberty Bell.
Activity 1:
 I will read the information on the two sites to my students discussing as we
read what they think and how they feel about the Liberty Bell.
 The students will then color a print out of the Liberty Bell to hang outside
of our classroom on our U.S. symbols bulletin board.
 In conclusion of the lesson the students will team up and answer some
questions using the two sites as a guide to complete the quiz:
1. Where and what year was the bell originally cast?
2. What was the original name for the bell and around what year was
the bell named the Liberty Bell?
3. What symbol has the Liberty Bell become?

her history.
Activity 1:
 The students will be assigned to a part of this article to read as I help them
pronounce the words.
 They will use green and white glitter to color a printout of the Statue of
Liberty.
 They will complete a quiz as a class using the site to answer the
questions:
1. The Statue of Liberty was a gift from what country?
2. In what year did the statue arrive in the USA?
3. Who designed the statue?
4. Where in the statue are 25 viewing windows located?
5. How tall is the statue?
