As I went through the different output of my co-teachers, I found out that

they need technical assistance to adopt to the new normal and as to what new
strategies in teaching should be use in this kind of teaching modalities.

LDM2 LAC sessions must be institutionalized because this is the avenue of

all teachers to improve with regards to the adaptation and embracing the
challenges of the new normal. Teachers must embrace these changes for the
benefit of the learners.

As a LAC Leader of TLE Department, I need to embrace first the reality

brought about by this pandemic. I need to adopt the present situation and equip
myself with the knowledge and skills through continuous reading and participation
of webinars, research and with the help of our school heads. We need to make
sure that we are capable enough of giving technical assistance to help our co-
teachers with regards to pedagogical approaches in the teaching learning process.
We also need to become updated and must have a high regard in the technical
know-how in terms of ICT since this is how the trend in the teaching learning
process.

On the other hand, teachers must also equipped with new teaching
modalities and must have a thorough background with regards to the Budget of
Work and how the bridge the competencies to the MELCs by continuosly guiding
and help them and by giving technical assistance and continuous LAC Sessions. I
will monitor my co-teachers if necessary to ensure that quality instructions are
being delivered among learners. With regards to unpacking and combining of
MELCs, some courses has no MELCs so we used the old curriculum guide based
on the Training Regulation prescribed by Tesda.

And since TLE has many components as content, some components

assigned for each grade level were changed based on the MELC Pivot IV-A.
Suggestions and sharing of thought were done until the group agreed that since
G7 and G8 are just exploratory phase, Dressmaking which is for G8 be assigned
for G7 and Beauty Care assigned for G7 be given to Grade 8. These two
components are in the said respective grade levels in the previous school years.
Targeted interventions are planned, carefully considered interventions that
occur when students do not meet the grade level expectation that are necessary
for academic progress. Diagnostic assessment data is a necessary next step to
determine the individual student's specific needs.

Instructional activities or learning tasks are the heart of the lesson.

Consider the learner’s characteristics (skills and needs), the learning materials and
resources available, and the sequencing of learning tasks in order to enable the
learner to achieve the lesson objectives.

In order to assist the education to the learners and parents, we

implemented an open line communication channels with them (FB chat, call & text
messages) so they can clarify tasks before the lesson proper and so we can
provide feedback and support during the lesson and administering evaluations and
giving feedback after the lesson. We also seek the help of barangay officials in the
distribution of learners materials and to intervene in their educational needs.

In assessing the learners, we cannot all monitor as to how the learners do

their tasks. To bridge these gaps, teachers must use different assessment
techniques and strategies. Learner’s assessments may be through portfolios that include
learning outputs such as written work, products, and performances evaluated using rubrics.
Include the testimonies of parents/guardians and learning facilitators regarding the
learner’s progress.
Weekly Home Learning Plan is very important for teachers and
parents. The Weekly Home Learning Plan shall aid teachers and parents in
keeping track of the day-to-day and offf-school general learning process as
they implement the most suitable and feasible alternative learning modality
based on the context of their school. WHLP creates awareness among
learners that they are responsible for what they learn.

When preparing the Weekly Home Learning Plan, teachers should be

guided with a long-term vision of what they want their learners to master and
achieve in terms of content and competencies at the end of the school year.

Teachers are advised to adopt strategies that respect the unique contexts
and diversity of learners in terms of their readiness, learning interest, and learning
profile.

The Weekly Home Learning Plan shall be communicated through the

parents for their reference and guidance.

As to the parents in Guinayangan Natioanl High School, they are

oriented by the assigned focal persons in their cluster about the contents,
purpose, and use of the learning plan by their children.
Individual Learning Monitoring Plan is a more specific tool which shall be
used by teachers and learning facilitators for learners who lag behind as shown by
the results of their formative and summative assessments. By providing
intervention strategies for a certain period, the Individual Learning Monitoring Plan
serves as the document that will show if the learner has shown either mastery of
the learning competencies, significant progress, or insignificant progress.

The Individual Learning Monitoring Plan shall be utilized to monitor learner

progress based on the given intervention strategies. Specifically, it shall be used to
serve as feedback data for learners who are provided with intervention activities. It
provide a mechanism of support to learners who are lagging behind as manifested
by the results of formative and summative assessments which may be gathered
through their portfolio or collected samples of learning outputs. It will also help the
parents/guardians to be aware of the academic progress of their children and
encourage them to strengthen their involvement in guiding and supervising the
learning of their children at home.

Communication with the learning facilitator is highly encouraged to monitor

child progress. It will be done by the concern adviser.

As a LAC Leader, I will provide continuous monitoring and feed backing in

order to see the progress of the learners. I will schedule a LAC Session if needed.
Our school implemented Modular Distance Learning (MDL) so in order to
achieve this LDM we need to have printed Self Learning Modules (SLM). This
SLM will be distributed to the learners. In the case of TLE Department, the Learning
Module that we adopted came from other region since there is no available module
provided from the central office.

Meanwhile, other learning resources like textbooks, learners’ materials,

MELCs-aligned teacher-made videos, audio-lessons, modules, activity sheets,
interactive e-materials may supplement the required learning resources and to
support the LMs that we have.
In education, the term professional development may be used in reference
to a wide variety of specialized training, formal education, or advanced
professional learning intended to help administrators, teachers, and other
educators improve their professional knowledge, competence, skill, and
effectiveness.

Continuing professional development is important because it ensures you

continue to be competent in your profession. It is an ongoing process and
continues throughout a professional's career.

To further assist/guide the developement of competencies of the teachers

in my department, as a LAC Leader, I need to develop in them professional
practice. Allow them to reflect on their teaching practice and guide them to assess
their own teaching. Help them establish goals for professional and instructional
development. Maintain positive professional relationships and work with them to
improve professional and instructional practice.
