Cách dùng ON, IN, AT để chỉ thời gian

1. Giới từ In: dùng trước một khoảng thời gian dài

Thông thường, in sẽ đi kèm với các cụm từ chỉ thời gian dài, chung chung như thiên niên
kỷ, thế kỷ, năm, mùa… Trong 3 giới từ on in at, in là giới từ chỉ thời gian bao quát nhất.
Ví dụ:

 In Winter, in Spring  In July, in March 

 In the 21th century  In three weeks

 In the 90’s  In the morning, in the afternoon 

 In 2020 

2. Giới từ On: dùng cho các khoảng thời gian cụ thể hơn

Thông thường on sẽ chỉ các khoảng thời gian cụ thể, ít khái quát hơn in. chẳng hạn như
đứng trước các thứ trong tuần, ngày tháng, ngày lễ cụ thể có chứa từ “Day” phía sau hoặc
một số dịp cụ thể. Ví dụ:

 On Monday, on Sunday 
  On June 15th

 On Valentine’s day, on Christmas Day, On Labor Day

 On this occasion

3. Giới từ At: dùng trước mốc thời gian rất ngắn

At là giới từ phổ biến nhất dùng để chỉ các mốc thời gian cụ thể như giờ giấc trong ngày,
các cụm từ chỉ thời gian có chứa time, moment…Ví dụ:

 At that time  At 3 o’clock

 At that moment  At dawn, at lunch

 At present

II. Cách dùng ON, IN, AT để chỉ địa điểm, nơi chốn

1. In: Chỉ địa điểm hoặc chủ thể ở trong một không gian, một nơi nào đó

Thông thường, giới từ in sẽ đứng trước các từ chỉ khu vực địa lý rộng lớn hoặc diễn tả
một chủ thể đang ở trong một không gian hoặc vật dụng nào đó. Ví dụ:

 In Ha Noi, In Viet Nam  In a box

 In Asia  In this house

 In Tokyo  In the street

2. On: Chỉ địa điểm cụ thể, rõ ràng hơn hoặc vị trí tiếp xúc phía trên mặt phẳng

Giới từ on thường được dùng để đề cập đến một địa điểm cụ thể hơn như tên đường, trên
phương tiện giao thông hoặc vị trí tiếp xúc phía trên bề mặt đồ vật nào đó.

3. At: Chỉ các địa điểm chính xác hoặc nơi người nói biết rõ
Thông thường, khi đề cập đến địa chỉ chính xác hoặc vị trí nơi người nói biết rõ, người ta
thường dùng giới từ at theo ví dụ sau:

 At 2 Hung Vuong, Dien Ban, Ba Dinh, Ha Noi

 At home, at work, at school…
