ORDINANCE NO. 9THCC-083

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE 9THCC-036

(Institutionalizing A Reward System for Athletes and Sports Officials of Santiago City)

WHEREAS, on March 14, 2017, the Sangguniang Panlungsod has approved Ordinance
No. 9THCC-036 entitled "Institutionalizing A Reward System for Athletes and Sports Officials
on Bringing Prestige and Honor to the City of Santiago in their Outstanding Performance for
Provincial, Regional, National and International Tournaments, Appropriating Funds in Relation
thereto and for Other Purposes;
WHEREAS,there is a need to amend Section 6 of the said Ordinance to increase the cash
incentive of Gold Medalists and inspire other athletes to go for the gold;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in its session duly
assembled that -

SECTION]. Title. The title of this Ordinance shall be "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE 9THCC-036".

SECTION 2. Amendment. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 9THCC-036 is hereby amended and

shall now be read as follows:

"SECTION 6. Grant of Sports Excellence Award. Medalists shall receive an

amount corresponding to the medals conferred. Trainers/Coaches of the Awardees shall
also receive an incentive.

The following are the cash reward equivalent of medals that the Awardees and
Trainers/Coaches will receive:

MEDAL CLASSIFICATION CASH REWARD

Gold P20,000.00/medal
Silver P10,000.00/medal
Bronze P 7,000.00/medal"

 SECTION 3. Repealing Clause. All local ordinances, rules and regulations or part thereof
that are inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed or modified
accordingly.

SECTION 4. Effectivity. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
