General Information
As from the Thursday 7th July 2016, Perkins SPI2 2016A will be available to download from the Perkins
Secured internet.

All users with an active CWS ID will be able to access this feature, although SPI2 will still need to be
licensed in the normal way. Please also refer to PMB 1025.
SPI² 2016A will still be available in USB format and can be ordered via the TIPSS Software order form if
required, Refer to System and Software Bulletin PMB 1025.

How to download Perkins SPI2 2016A

NOTE: It is important that you are given Administrator rights to install SPI2 software.

Select the following link or log-on to the Perkins secured internet and navigate too:-
Product Support>TIPSS>SPI2>SPI2 2016A Download

1. Read the following instructions, then Click the “Download SPI2 2016A” button

2. Select ‘Save’ (preferred method), or Select ‘Save As’

3. At the bottom of the Internet Explorer page, you will see the following bar. For further information
on download speeds, click ‘View Downloads’ and refer to the guidelines and timings below.

4. If you chose ‘Save’, the zip file will be found in your ‘Download’ folder (pictured below), or if you
chose ‘Save As’, it will be saved where you specified.

SPI2 Download is a large file, download duration will depend on your internet connection. See
Guidelines below:

Note:
Mbps – Megabits per second. Used for advertised line speed from ISP
KBps – Kilobytes per second. Actual download speed registered on computers
MBps – Megabytes per second. Actual download speed registered on computers

How to Install Perkins SPI2 2016A after Download

General Notes
• It is important that you are given Administrator rights to install SPI2 software.
• You will need approximately 21GB of free storage space on your hard drive.
• Screenshots shown are utilising the Windows default zip tool on Windows 7.

1. Extract the contents of this zip file to your C:\ drive

This will take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on your computer speed

Make sure the destination is showing C:\ as below

2. Open the SPI2_2016A Folder (Fig 1) and Double-click / Run the install(.bat) file (Fig 2)

3. Please follow the Installation instructions referring to “PMB 1025 – SPI2 2016A release” (Fig 2).

4. When the installation has been completed:

(Optional) Transfer the C:\SPI2_2016A folder to a removable media device (eg. USB pen) for
further use if required
Or
Delete the C:\SPI2_2016A folder and .zip file which was downloaded to free up space on your
hard drive. (Warning: Do not delete the “Perkins_SPI2” folder)
