SECTION E GUIDED ESSAY

1. Discuss the use of bed accessories


 Bed cradle. for lifting a patient
 Bed elevator. For elevating the bed
 Bed side locker. For keeping patient stuffs
 Fracture board. They are made of wood and are put under the mattress to prevent sagging of
bed.
 Bed table.
It is a small table which is designed in such a way that it can be placed on the patient’s bed so
that he or she can take his or her meals from a tray which is put on it. Also used by patient with
cardiac arrest and asthma to lean forward to assist breathing.

2. Discuss the factors which affect blood pressure
 Blood volume, the increase in blood volume the increase in pressure due its pass against
the wall of the arteries.
 Cardiac output, the product of heart rate and stroke volume. The more the cardiac
output increases the more blood pressure increases.
 Vessel elasticity, the decrease of vessel elasticity (arteriosclerosis) the more the blood
pressure will increases.
 Peripheral resistance, compose of blood viscosity, blood vessel diameter and total
vessel length. As they get increase blood pressure also increases.
