How Covid-19 Changed My

Life
The COVID-19 pandemic has radically changed my life. When I
used to go to school, by the end of the day I would be exhausted
– mentally as well as physically – and as a result, I did not have
trouble falling asleep. Now, I don’t get tired enough during the
day, so I can’t sleep at night, and I wake up late in the morning.
That’s why I am sometimes late for, or even miss, online
classes. Interaction with my classmates in school is what I miss
the most from before. At least now, I have kind of a bit less
homework to do. I was more active during classes while in
school, there was more interaction.
When I went to school, I had more homework, but the lessons
were way more engaging and interesting, I could concentrate
better. Initially, I was afraid that online classes would be
difficult, but it doesn’t seem as hard as I expected. In a way, it’s
even easy. Online schooling is interesting too. I learned how to
do homework electronically and search for information on the
Internet.
My life has changed completely since my school was closed.
Before, I spent most of the day at school with my classmates.
Now, in my free time I spend it by exploring myself. I
sometimes play badminton matches with my friends or my
parents, or sometimes I learn new songs on piano or sometimes I
put my imaginations into art. I have learnt different types of
painting like glass painting and Mandala art, doodle art, oil
painting and I have painted even on wooden plates. I even give
my parents a hand so that they have time for household chores.
Me and my brother together, we learnt and tried new dishes
which went out pretty well. And with my mother I have kind of
redecorated the house; like we did plantation and we bought new
plant pots and painted them with different-different designs and
we also did bottle plantation, hand painted them.
The recent changes have affected me very deeply. Staying at
home for such a long time is bad for one’s health. Most time I
am on the computer to do the assignments. I miss real life
communication with others a lot. With schools closed, lessons
are being held remotely. All sports, school activities, and events
have been cancelled. Friendships and relationships have been
transported to live chats and video calls.
For me, the hardest thing in the new reality is the new reality
itself: doing nothing (for almost one and a half year), and the
immense lack of communication with my friends in real life. It
is not unbearable, but it is very difficult.
