Occupational Hygiene

Occupational hygiene is the discipline of protecting worker health, by controlling workplace


hazards that can cause harm. Thus, Occupational Hygiene practice assist in keeping workers
safe and healthy.

What are the advantages of practicing occupational hygiene?


• Protect worker health
• Protect the community at large
• Help evaluate the effectiveness of implemented measures to reduce hazards
• Identifies priority control areas to ensure a healthy workplace
• Occupational hygiene can prevent occupational diseases

Occupational hygiene is not only the


responsibility of the employer. The
employee as an equal obligation in
keeping the workplace safe by
following rules and procedures
provided by the employer to ensure
safe work.
