CEE Entry Scholarships for Outstanding HKDSE Students

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) accords recognition to

outstanding HKDSE students admitted to our undergraduate programmes via JUPAS from
2021/22 onwards. Awardees will be granted “CEE Entry Scholarships for Outstanding HKDSE
Students”, which is partly contributed by CEE alumnus Mr Yau Kwok Fai.
A one-off entry scholarship will be granted to HKDSE admittee(s) with outstanding academic
results and financial need. The "best 5" HKDSE subjects will be considered.

BEng (Hons) Scheme in Civil Engineering and Sustainable Development [JS3120]

Tier HKDSE Scores Scholarship Amount

1 30 or above (Any Best 5 Subjects) One-off scholarship at HK$100,000
2 25 – 29 (Any Best 5 Subjects) One-off scholarship at HK$60,000
3 23 – 24 (Any Best 5 Subjects) One-off scholarship at HK$40,000

* Top-up: An extra HK$25,000 with 2 quota per academic year will be granted to awardees with
financial needs. Eligible students would be invited to submit application for this top-up.

Granting of the Award

The Department will identify outstanding admittee(s) and notify them of the award after the
commencement of the academic year.

Remarks:
1. The Extended Mathematics modules will also be taken into account for scholarship consideration.
2. For the purpose of calculating the admission scores, HKDSE level attainments will be converted to
level points where Level 5**=8.5, 5*=7, 5=5.5, 4=4, 3=3, 2=2, 1=1 and Unclassified=0.
3. If a student is eligible for more than one Entry Scholarships offered by the University, only ONE
scholarship with higher value will be awarded.
4. A student can concurrently hold more than one scholarship administered by the University in an
academic year if the total value of scholarships received by him/her does not exceed his/her annual
tuition fee payable plus HK$50,000 unless otherwise stipulated.
