Methodology

This chapter explains various methodologies that were used in gathering data and
analysis which are relevant to the research. It provides outlines and steps that the
researcher would take to conduct qualitative research study on the influence of study
habits on the academic performance of senior high school students. First, the researcher
would design the study as a qualitative case study, which involves an in-depth
exploration of specific phenomenon within a particular context. Next, the researcher
would select participants for the study through purposive sampling. To collect data, the
researcher would use an open indeed question and interviews. The interviews would be
conducted with the participants, either in-person or video call. While, the question was
answered by all senior high department. Once the data has been collected the researcher
would also need to consider ethical considerations, such as obtaining informed consent
from participants, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting the privacy of participants.

Population and Sample
The researchers target respondent of these study are the senior high school students of
Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS). The topic is all about the study habits in relation
with their academic performance in senior high school student it is relevant research topic that
can be explode further. The study can focus on identifying the different study habits that senior
high school students practice and how these habits affect their academic performance. The
researchers chose to use a random purposeful/purposive sampling. It can also investigate the
factors that contribute to the development of good study habits affect their academic
performance and the challenges that students face in maintaining them. 36 Grade 11 and 27
Grade 12 students purposefully answer the researchers made questions, in this way biased
result would be avoided. Additionally, the research can explore the relationship between study
habits and academic performance in different subjects.
