Types of Occupation.

Industrial Occupation : this refers to all those activities involving the


extraction and processing of raw materials into finished or semi
finished goods. E.g. extracting and manufacturing industries.

TYPES OF INDUSTRIAL OCCUPATION

Extrative Occupation:

The extractive occupation involves those who engage in obtaining raw


material and natural resources from above or below the earth surface
(sea or water).

Manufacturing Occupation:

This refers to those who engage in the processing and turning of raw
materials produced in the primary industry into finished goods or
products. E.g. shoes making, food processing and textile.

Constructive Occupation:

It refers to those who engaged in assembling of goods manufactured


into usable form. E.g. construction of roads, airports, bridges.

COMMERCIAL OCCUPATION

COMMERCIAL occupation refers to all activities that are geared


towards the production, distribution, exchange, buying and selling of
goods and services that are either rendered by individuals or
produced by industries. E.g. Bankers, traders, advertisers.

TYPES OF COMMERCIAL OCCUPATION


Insurance : It is concerned with the activities of people who under to
protect themselves and their properties against any risk or losses.

Banking: A bank is an institution setup purposely for safekeeping of


money, valuable goods and documents like wills and others.

Insurance: tlThisvis an institution or provision made for the protection


of persons or objects against risk.

Advertising: This is a means of bringing the existence or production of


new goods and services to the knowledge of members of the public
and to persuade them to buy and use the goods and services.

Warehousing: This is the act of storing goods produced ahead of


demand until the time they will be needed.
