Explosion Protection
Because of the different completion statuses, the details on the identification plate must be bindingly ob-
served when using the display consoles.
A distinction is made here between a version in category 2G and a different version in 2G/2D. All versions
are designed in Explosion Protection Class "i" and always have to be operated intrinsically safe.

NOTICE
Display consoles without (optional) switching outputs
All the menu items, which contain the limit value input and output, are
omitted for this.
Displays (states), which are saved twice indicate that an input is made in these states
and the display changes with each press of the button.
> Perform 'Input of values' (see flow chart "Input of values").
Operating state
After clamping, the display consoles DLZ 030/050 start with the initialization of parameter and scaling data.
These are read from the internal EEPROM memory and come from the previous operation. This memory is
prepopulated with standard values when delivered new. The display console then starts to display the meas-
ured current signal on the digital display and in an analogue form in the bar charts. As a result, the device is
in working or operating mode and entries can be made (see flow chart in »Menu controls, flow
charts [➙21]«).

[MOVE RIGHT] button: Select limit value display. [limit high] appears.
Confirming by pressing the [ENTER] button displays the upper limit value.
Pressing the [MOVE RIGHT] button ends the limit value display/'normal' mode is re-
stored.
Limit values can also be changed by pressing the [ENTER] button again.
The display switches to edit mode.

Password query
In order to prevent unauthorized persons from modifying the limit values, a query of
password No. 2 is required. Entering an incorrect password immediately ends the limit
value entry. At delivery, password No. 2 is set to [0002].
NOTICE

Parametrization
Starting from the operating state: The [ENTER] button switches to the input menu.
Entering and manipulating the instrument adjustments should be reserved for the au-
thorized persons. Consequently, access to the input menu is protected by password
No. 1.
Factory settings: [0001].
The password query to access the input menu cannot be switched off.
Scaling menu:
The digital display with decimal point and the bar chart are scaled here (see scaling
menu flow chart in »Menu controls, flow charts [➙21]«).
Start the scaling menu: [ENTER] button
[MOVE RIGHT] button: Select next submenu (limit value menu) (only for devices with
switching output option).
Limit value menu: Enter the actual limit value, define a switching-off hysteresis/
switching-off delay/work principle for the switching outputs(see also limit value flow
charts in »Menu controls, flow charts [➙21]«).
Password No. 2 with reference [0000] is not queries for the limit value display.
The initial calibration takes place in the factory before delivery. Recalibration is generally not neces-
sary and may only be carried out by specially trained personnel.
This is the end of the input menu. Exiting from the menu is confirmed with the
[ENTER] button. The display console is then in operating mode.
The input menu can be repeated by pressing the [MOVE UP] button. The selection of
the scaling menu is displayed (see above).
If values were entered in the input menu that are outside their correct range, the input menu cannot
be exited. The display automatically changes to the valid value in edit mode.

The switching delay 'te' is the time between the first exceedance of the measured value above the limit value
and the switching time of the switching output Max. This applies correspondingly to the switching output Min.
If the measured value in the mean time is less than the limit value, the time delay waits for the entire
period 'te' again from the start.

Enter the password using the arrow keys and press [ENTER].
Tab. 7: Procedure
Scaling starts with determining the position of the decimal point. The position
specified here
is binding for entries: Measured value scaling, bar chart scaling, limit values.
As [2000] is entered later for the upper scaling point, the decimal point has to
be set after the second position.

VLD 20100 Large Display
The unit has an electronic brightness control, which automatically adjusts the display brightness depending
on ambient light. This not only enables a good readout to be obtained in all light conditions, but also provides
a significant increase in service life.
Baud rate, data format * 9600 Baud, 8 Data bit, 1 Stop bit, no parity
1200 Baud, 7 Data bit, 1 Stop bit, even parity
Baud rate/Data format and procedure are recognized automatically by the dis-
play.
:* If a value transmission format and a valid data protocol are identified, these set-
tings remain saved in the remote display until the next switching on. After chan-
ging to a different transmission format or another data protocol, the mains
voltage of the remote display must be switched off and on again so that the auto-
matic search for valid data protocols is restarted.
