A. Subject Matter: Safety Precautions during Different
Weather Conditions

precautionary measures during different weather conditions.

A. Engage

2. Review
Ask the learners to think about the three different weather
conditions.

3. Motivation
Observe and describe what you can see on the different
pictures on the Self-learning module. And let the learners
answer: What are the nice and not so nice things you experience
during rainy days? Windy days? And sunny days?

B. EXPLORE
1. Let the learners view the video presentation about the safety
precautions during different weather conditions on youtube or the
video uploaded in your group chat.
C. EXPLAIN
a. Presentation
Ask the learners to answer:
1. What is the video all about?
2. Based on the video, what are the safety precautions
during Rainy days? Sunny days? Windy days?

D. ELABORATION
a. Discussion (Integration: Health and English)
1. Rainy days are days with rain with most of the day. The
sky seems so dark and the sun is covered with dark clouds. You may
feel cold most of the time. How could we protect ourselves on these
days?
a. Wear thick clothes.
b. Do not wade in dirty water.
c. Do not play in the rain.
d. Take Serious Precautions Against Mosquitoes.
e. Pay Attention to Weather Forecasts.
f. Eat warm foods.

2. Windy days are somewhat interrelated to Rainy days.


It may be a sign of a storm coming. So, we should…
a. Take refuge in your house, preferably in the basement.
b. Avoid staying near a glass windows and doors.
c. Wear thick clothes.
d. Do not go boating.
e. Pay Attention to Weather Forecasts.

3. And Sunny days are days we could enjoy the warmth of the
heat given off by the sun. But, let us put on our minds the Do’s and
Don’ts during these days.
a. Wear protective clothing.
b. Use sunscreen and use it right.
c. Keep your body hydrated.
d. Clothing should be light-colored and lightweight.
e. Stay in the shade whenever possible, and limit sun exposure
during the peak intensity hours – between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

And we should always remember, that because of this pandemic,


whether it is sunny, rainy or windy days, we should remember the three
M’s mandated by our government- Magmaskara, Magdistansya, Manghinaw.
b. Application (Integration: English)
 Let the learners fill up the graphic organizers by using
the pictures given to them. Have them identify the
different safety precautions during each weather
conditions.

And then ask:


 What are the different safety precautions during Rainy
days? Windy days? And Sunny days?
 Why do we need to follow these safety precautions?

E. EVALUATION

Directions: Identify the different Do’s and Don’ts during Sunny, Rainy and
Windy days. Write S on your answer sheet if the situation tells about safety
precautions during Sunny days, R if it tells about Rainy days, and W if it
tells about Windy days.
1. Do not expose yourself to too much heat of the sun.
2. Do not play in dirty water.
3. Secure items outside your home that could be blown away, such as
furniture, trash bins, etc.
4. Drink plenty of water.
5. Check that nearby trees and/or tall structures are undamaged and in
good repair and are not in danger of being blown over and damaging your home
or placing people in danger.

F. ENRICHMENT
Have the learners study about shadows.
