MFPA FORMATION AND OBJECTIVES
The Malaysian Fire Protection Association (MFPA) was first mooted in 1976 by a group of Malaysian pioneers and
expatriates in the fire industry. The Association was formally registered as a society on 26th July 1977. Since then, MFPA
has grown into an organized and cohesive organization, representing the manufacturers, contractors and professionals in
the fire trades.
The Organization is dedicated in promoting and developing the fire industry. Throughout the years, it has organized
various courses for the betterment of our members. MFPA collaborates with the various professional bodies in conducting
seminars on fire safety and is also responsible in disseminating latest developments in the fire industries globally through
its international networks.
The Organization is actively involved in upgrading standards through its participation with SIRIM in various working
groups on Standard Writing Technical committees on both active and passive fire system.
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
Corporate Membership is opened to all Corporate Fire Installation Contractors, Fire Protection Equipment Manufacturers
and Suppliers, Architects, Engineers, Consultants, Insurance Companies and all those directly interested in the Fire
Protection field and who indicate in writing their willingness to abide by the Rules of the
1. All Corporate members must have a minimum paid-up capital of RM25,000.00.
2. All applications for Corporate Membership must be proposed by one ordinary member of the association and seconded
by another.
3. Admission to Corporate Membership of the Association will be by a simple majority vote of the members of the
Central Committee at a meeting of the Committee.
Every ordinary member of the Association (in this context ordinary member refer to corporate, individual –
professional member, life corporate, life individual members only) shall be entitled to attend and vote at the
Association’s General Meetings. Each ordinary member is entitled to one (1) vote only.
4. All representative of corporate membership must be employees of the Company.
5. Members can be nominated to join the Technical Sub-Committee related to the field of work and industry
6. Members will be invited to participate in public events organized by the Association
7. Members will receive a copy of MFPA Berita Magazine twice a year.
