Dear Friends,
We would like to thank you for taking part in the Lev Dov community survey in February 2022. The
enthusiasm and responsiveness of the community was outstanding. The information we gleaned is
fundamental to continue with our mission to support individuals with disabilities.

Attached to this email you will find the results of the survey. It is clear to see that although many
individuals with disabilities are fortunate to have loving family members upon whom to rely, this
segment of the community certainly needs more support and long term housing solutions.

Many of you responded that you feel insecure about your loved one’s future living arrangements.
This is a topic that we hope to address in a timely and effective manner. We look forward to sharing
some positive advancements soon.

Another topic of interest was that of recreational and social outlets, in addition to other support for
your loved ones. To that end, we would like to direct you to the Toronto Jewish Disabilities Network
website.

Created by Susie Sokol, Toronto Jewish Disability Network (TJDN) is comprised of organizations that
support children and adults with disabilities and their families.

The intention is to connect those with lived experience, families, leaders, professionals and
community.
The site www.torontojdn.org offers information, many resources, a calendar of events, blogs and a
bulletin board for newsworthy items and informative pieces. The Network sends out a monthly
newsletter of updated resources that is distributed widely. Questions are welcome, as well as guest
blogs and information to share with others.

You may also request to become a member of the private Jewish Disability Facebook group.

Thank you, again, for your trust and your support. Wishing you a healthy and happy summer,

Deborah Jacobs, M.S.W., RSW Miri Kaufman
