Drinking water hygiene: vitally important for animal production results
The health of an animal is largely determined by water hygiene levels, a fact that is often overlooked. Drinking systems need regu-
lar cleaning, otherwise they will become polluted and provide a source for the uninhibited growth of bacteria.
Contaminated drinking water is often not visible to the eye, but animals become sick and performance levels just go from bad to
worse. Especially with young animals, when temperatures are high and water flow is low, there is a high risk of bacterial growth.

Liquid Feed Systems: remnants as source for mould– yeast– and bacterial growth
Remaining liquid feed in the system easily dries up and every next feeding round fresh feed stays behind in the system. Liquid feed
is a perfect feeding ground for moulds, yeast and bacteria's. The quality of your liquid feed rapidly lowers and with that also the
immunity and health of your pigs.

Aqua-clean® : effervescent, dual action water hygiene system

Aqua-clean is based on hydrogen peroxide, but has been enriched with a special complex for stabilisation, so that the products

stays active for 2 days. When Aqua-clean® meets dirt in the system, it will be activated and bubbles of oxygen will brush dirt
away. This needs to be a slow but very strong process, as otherwise dirt will remain in the system.

Aqua-clean® also prevents bacteria to grow by removing the breeding ground for bacteria.

Cleaning a non-operating system (no animals present)
Depending on the degree of pollution:
Introduce a 1 – 3% solution of Aqua-clean® in the system.
Make sure there is adequate air release out of the system!
Allow the system to stand full for a minimum of 12 hours.
Flush thoroughly with water afterwards.

Cleaning an operating drinking system (animals present)

Set your dosage pump to 1%
Mix Aqua-clean® with water, to the following stock solution/premix:
Day 1 and 2 Day 3 and 4 Day 5 and 6 Day 7 - 10

10 litres 100 ml 150 ml 200 ml 250 ml

Conditioning the drinking system (animals present)

Set your dosage pump to 1%.
Mix Aqua-clean® with water, to the following stock solution:
For 24 hours

10 litre 100 ml

at least once a week

always after addition of vaccines, medication or additives

Conditioning the liquid feeding system (animals present)

Between feeding rounds, bring a 0.1% Aqua-clean® solution in the system and
leave it there as long as possible. Rinse the system thoroughly before the next
feeding round. Use the rinsing water to make fresh liquid feed and use Kanters
Acid AMY to preserve the liquid feed.
