Period 3: SETTING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ENGLISH CLASSES

I. Objectives:
- Ss know the goals of English subject in school year 2023-2024
- Ss sets rules and regulations to help them learn and perform well in class, so that they can achieve their goals
in school year 2023-2024
- Skills: speaking, writing
II. Methodology:
- lexical approaches, communicative approaches
III. Preparation:
- Teachers: 2 sheet of roki paper (A0 size), 8 sheet of A3 paper, coloured pens, paper tapes, pins to pin
posters…
- Students: pencils, pens, ….
IV. Teaching procedure:
Activity 1: Code of Conduct Word Search (5’)
- T delivers handouts.
- T lets Ss work in pairs to find the rules printed in the horizontal or vertical lines.
- T asks how many a pair can find.
- T shows the key and compliments the winner.
Activity 2: Matching the case with the suitable rules (5’)
- T shows ppt slides/ handouts
- Ss work in pairs to match

Cases Rules
Teacher is teaching Complete writing journal
1-1 session Keep quiet and listen
My journal Cooperate and be creative
Work on the project Focus on doing the MOET tests; talk to the Teacher
Activity 2: Rate the performance (5’)
- T delivers the handouts, Ss work individually to rate their performance on the class rules last year.
- T checks some Ss.
Activity 3: Making posters (25’)
- Ss work in groups of 4:

 4 groups will be in charge for CLASSROOM RULES (key phrases from Activity 1)
 3 groups will be in charge for HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH SKILLS BETTER (English subject
regulation)
- T lets Ss work together in 25 minutes, draw, paint, colour, and create their posters.
Activity 3: SUMMARY (10’)
- T lets group leaders represent the CLASSROOM RULES and HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH SKILLS
BETTER to imply what Ss have to obey and follow during school year in English class time.
- Ss pin two posters on the bulletin board.
