Dear Beautiful People,

Many thanks to the Ramseur Club for hosting.

1. On January 22 and/or January 23, ECA will ful ll the requirements for the grant

Below is a sample of the topics we will offer. Look over these topics. Decide what

3. There will be an “AREA MEETING” at 10:00 on October 3rd at the Extension
Of ce. During an “AREA MEETING” we generally have a speaker from a local
organization, have a short business session, and do a cooking activity or craft.

The meeting should be nished by noon. Here is a brief agenda:

* Follow-up details about the Hope of Eastside Project

* Presentation by a representative from Lydia’s House

* Discussion about how ECA can be involved in Lydia’s House

* A fun craft activity led by Margie Stidham

4. Several ECA representatives will attend an informational meeting at Lydia’s

House on August 28th. Lydia’s House is a shelter for women and children; it is
located in North Asheboro. At the October 3rd area meeting, we will have a
speaker from the shelter come to present a short program about the work that they
are doing with this fragile population.

5. During the pandemic..and post pandemic, most of us have not been keeping up
with volunteer hours. We need to get back on schedule with keeping up with
volunteer hours. There is an online form for submission of your volunteer hours that
you can complete at the end of the year. During the year, you can write down hours
in any way you wish…but the online form is the only way to report them for now.
Once a new FCS extension agent is hired, he or she may have suggestions. For now,
I suggest that you look at the online form to get an idea of what type of volunteer
service should be included. Here’s the link- ( the volunteer hours form is called
“ Year Activity Report Form”

6. The ECA State Conference will be held Tuesday-Wednesday, October 24-25.

The conference will start at 9:00am on Tuesday and end with lunch the next day.

The Ramada Inn in Kill Devil Hills is the conference hotel; registration info will
be available by the end of the month. Members who wish to attend are responsible
for their own transportation and registration. The extension van is not available

7. The latest edition of the State ECA E-Newsletter was just released. Those without
email will receive a paper copy. Members who use email will receive an email with
the document. You can also access the newsletter on our Randolph ECA website.
