Cancelled/Surrendered the License
Equitas Holdings has surrendered its NBFC licence and accordingly, its registration has been
cancelled. The RBI, in the exercise of powers conferred on it under Section 45-IA (6) of the
Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, has therefore cancelled its CoR (certificate of registration).
The RBI has canceled the banking license of Mahalaxmi Cooperative Bank, Dharwad and allowed
function only as a non-banking institution.

RBI has set up a committee for Review of Customer Service Standards in RBI Regulated Entities,
under the chairmanship of BP Kanungo.
RBI has notified four key measures to strengthen how many Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) in
the country = 1,514. UCBs can now open new branches up to 10% of the number of branches in
the previous financial year without prior approval of RBI in their approved area of operation. The
deadline to achieve PSL target of 60% also extended to March 31, 2024.

SEBI released guidelines for transactions in corporate bonds through the Request for Quote
(RFQ) platform by stockbrokers in order to increase liquidity on the platform, from July 1, 2023.

SEBI has introduced a regulatory framework for online investment platforms that facilitate
investments in commission-free Mutual Fund schemes.
SEBI has restricted online bond platform providers from offering products other than listed
debt securities on their platforms. SEBI also allowed them to offer securities such as Government
Securities, Treasury Bills, listed SBGs, listed municipal debt securities, and listed securitized debt
instruments on their platforms. Under the rules, Online Bond Platform Providers (OBPPs) need to
register themselves as stock brokers in the debt segment of the stock exchange.
SEBI has banned India Infoline Ltd (IIFL) Securities from onboarding any new clients for two
years. Reason: Mixing clients’ funds with proprietary funds by routing transactions through
common control accounts; Utilizing funds of credit balance clients for settlement obligation of
debit balance clients; Utilizing funds of credit balance clients for settlement obligation of
proprietary trades.
Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI)

SIDBI has signed an MoU with HDFC bank for providing financial solutions to MSMEs. Under the
MoU, SIDBI and HDFC Bank will work together to provide complete financial product and services
to the customers under MSMEs. Aim: To facilitate providing complete financial solutions to
MSMEs in a seamless manner.

Go Digit has received the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India's approval
to commence life insurance operations. Digit Insurance already has general insurance operations
through Go Digit General Insurance. In 2022, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank announced that they will
both acquire up to 9.94% stake each in Go Digit-Life Insurance through the investment of ₹50-70
crore, possibly in tranches, subject to executive of certain terms and agreements.

PM Modi has launched two schemes 'Amrit Dharohar' and 'MISHTI' to revive the country's
wetlands and mangroves. Amrit Dharohar: To ensure the conservation of the existing Ramsar
sites through public participation. These sites will become the center of eco-tourism and a source
of green jobs for thousands of people. MISHTI: It refers to Mangrove Initiative for Shosssreline
Habitats and Tangible Incomes. It will help revive and protect the mangrove ecosystem in the
country.
The union cabinet has approved the continuation of the Central Sector Scheme of “Exploration
of Coal and Lignite scheme” with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 2980 crore.

Ministry of Cooperation will implement a pilot project of the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan
in Cooperative Sector in at least ten selected districts. The Cabinet has approved the constitution
and empowerment of an Inter-Ministerial Committee for the facilitation of the “World’s Largest
Grain Storage Plan in Cooperative Sector”.

Gabon from New Delhi.

2023 for scientific management of forests. It has evolved new approaches during the ‘World Day

NANDI (NOC Approvals for New Drugs & Inoculation System) to speed up the process to assess
and examine the safety, efficacy, and essentiality of veterinary product proposals received in the
Department.

Union Health Ministry has amended the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2004, to
mandate the display of anti-tobacco warnings and disclaimers on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.
India has become the first country to make it mandatory for OTT platforms. To display anti-
tobacco health spots of a minimum of 30 seconds each at the beginning and middle of a
program. An audio-visual disclaimer of a minimum of 20 seconds on the ill effects of tobacco
use.
Health Minister, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has unveiled the 5th State Food Safety Index on the
occasion of World Food Safety Day 2023. He has also unveiled Rapid Food Testing Kit (RAFT)

The World Bank and Bangladesh bank signed two financing agreements totaling USD 858
