§1 Scope

(1) The University of Heidelberg awards in the master’s program (Master of Science)
"Technical Computer Science" (MScTI) study places in the first as well as in the

§ 3 Admission requirements

(1) Anyone who holds a Bachelor of

study lasting at least six semesters in the following disciplines and has proven suitability
in accordance with § 6 paragraph 3

b) Mathematics, natural sciences or engineering with an assignable portion of courses to


impart basic knowledge from computer science (e.g. from the computer science

(2) The Admissions Committee decides on the equivalence of previous education and the

(3) If the degree has not yet been completed by the time the application is submitted, a
provisional certificate from the university on the achievements achieved up to

§ 4 Admissions Committee

(1) An admissions committee is formed for the MScTI. This consists of four people
who belong to the full-time scientific staff of the faculties of engineering or mathematics

well as one student. Two members must belong to the group of professors.

(2) The dean of studies for computer engineering is a member and chairman of the
committee. The student member is proposed by the students.

(3) The members of the Admissions Committee are appointed by the Faculty Board
of the Faculty of Engineering. The term of office of the members is two years. Reordering
is possible.

(4) The Admissions Committee can appoint a member to evaluate applications in clear
cases.

(5) The Admissions Committee recommends to the Rector those to be admitted for the MScTI
applicant.

§ 5 selection interview

(1) The selection interviews take place by arrangement. The exact dates and location will
be communicated in good time.

(2) Who takes part in the selection interview

a) applied for a place on the course in due time and form or submitted an application

from the arithmetic averaging of the evaluations of the members of the admissions committee.

(9) The interview is graded with 0 points if the applicant

(3) An applicant is considered suitable if the total number of points in the selection process is at least 20
points.

§ 7 Admission

(1) The Rector decides on the admission based on the proposal of the
Admissions Committee.

(2) The application shall be rejected if

a) the requirements set out in Sections 2 and 3 are not met or

b) the applicant has lost the right to be examined in the above-mentioned master's degree program or in
degree programs with essentially the same content or is in an ongoing examination procedure for
such a degree program or

c) the applicant is not considered suitable within the meaning of § 6 paragraph 3.

(3) Admission according to § 3 paragraph 3 is to be granted subject to the proviso that the degree and the
associated requirements are proven by the last working day before the start of the semester. The admission
expires if the proof according to § 3 paragraph 1 is not provided in time.

(4) Otherwise, the general provisions for the admissions procedure in Heidelberg University's
admissions and enrollment regulations remain unaffected.

§ 8 Effective Date

The above changes come into force on the first day of the month following their publication in the rector's
