INTRODUCTION
Employability skills are the core skills and traits which are needed in almost
every job. These are the general skills that make any candidate desirable to an
organization.
Employability skills include both soft skills and professional skills. Soft skills
are the ones that allow us to work well with others, use our knowledge to solve
problems, and to fit into different work environments. They also include the
professional skills that enable you to be a successful individual in the
workplace.
Employers value employability skills because they regard these as indications of
how a candidate gets along with other team members and customers, and how
efficiently is he/she likely to handle their job performance and career success.
These unique attributes are always the most important requirements in their
potential employees because they have always been necessary for a productive
and smoothly functioning workforce. Enterprises spend a substantial amount of
time and money developing these foundational and work-readiness skills.
Some examples of common employability skills have been listed down below:

OBJECTIVE
The basic objective of this report was to understand and identify the importance
of employability skills in the education sector.
HYPOTHESIS
The assumption is that the questionnaire's findings will shed light on both the
employees of the organization's strong points and their areas for development.
Using these insights, specialized training and development programs can be
created to fill in skill gaps, enhance overall employee performance, and support
the success of the company. Therefore, we predict that the questionnaire will be
a useful instrument for identifying the workforce's strengths and potential
improvement areas.
METHODOLOGY
1. Data review: For people who have started their career in education sector
lately, this survey tends to examine the employability skills required for them to
succeed in this particular sector. The main aim here is to identify the
employability skills required in the education sector. The sources for data
collection were- published articles, reports, and other relevant sources.

SAMPLING
Sampling is a technique of selecting individual members or a subset of the
population to make statistical inferences from them and estimate the
characteristics of the whole population. It basically means the group of people
from which the information regarding the research would be collected.
ANALYSIS
In our approach to analysis, we had a lot of options to follow up on the data. We
used Google forms which allowed us to have a graphical representation of our
data
We mainly targeted the age group 18-24 years and above.
Yes, most of the respondents feel comfortable working with the deadlines as it
affects their growth in the organisation as an employee.
Most of the respondents think it is important to strengthen their written
presentations and preparation of document. Few respondents are giving it less
importance to focus on written presentation also due to digitalisation, most of
the official work and records are maintained digitally.
Yes, most of the respondents think that conceptual skills are necessary for
performing tasks. The ability to define and consider the concepts that influence
your work is a core professional skill. Thinking on a conceptual level enables
people to plan, strategize, and evaluate workflows in order to improve them.
You can advance your career by learning about common conceptual skills and
focusing on improving these characteristics.
Yes, Majority of the respondents think communication skills are necessary
employability skill in the education sector. A person will be able to demonstrate
their academic accomplishment substantially better if they have strong
communication abilities. These abilities help people become more self-assured
and improve their work prospects.

in the workplace due to extra benefits and individual growth.

change. Education systems has become more flexible and responsive. So, it is
important to equip people with updated skills, and prepare youth for the world

important employability skill. Collaboration is a necessary component of all
employment occasionally. A better workplace is a result of collaboration as a
teamwork ability. Also, it raises your chances of being employed by an
organisation to assist in more efficiently achieving the organization's goals..
Yes, majority of the respondents agree that leadership and management skills
are crucial for employability in education sector. Every level of an organisation
requires strong leadership. Employers search for applicants with this skill set. If
you can effectively manage your team members, inspire and train the employees
to enhance their work practises, and set targets or goals for the co-workers to
share in the interest of the company, you can demonstrate your leadership
qualities.
Yes, most of the respondents think it is important to have research and analytical
skills as an employability skill. Analytical skills enable the employee to improve
their knowledge about the organisation. Employees with good research skills
tend to adapt to change easily by learning new concepts and methods. They are
valuable to the firm as they can quickly fill up challenging
positions and save time.
CONCLUSION
From the collected data we can conclude that both technical skills and Soft
skills are equally important in a candidate to perform in the education sector,
technical skills includes strong ability to research and analyse, conclusive
documentation whereas soft skills include Flexibility, adaptability, quick
decision making, interpersonal skills, self-motivation and willingness to work
which helps in both individual as well as overall team growth. It is not just
about a persons IQ but nowadays all the sectors including the education sector
focuses on developing a person’s EQ as well. A balanced combination of both
IQ ands EQ is essential for every person aspiring to have a career in the
Education Sector.
Colleges and Educational Institutions play a crucial role in developing and
nurturing these skills. Its not just the theoretical knowledge but also the hands-
on experiential learning that you gain from your education, Hence overall such
institutions play a major role in shaping up the future of education sector.
