Introduction
Proctors can use this document to learn what to expect when reading the script in
Test Day Toolkit. This is intended as a practice resource only as the following script is
subject to change before test day.
You’ll read out the start code for your testing room at the end of the script. Digital
testing will not work without accessing this in Test Day Toolkit. This document will
not include your testing room start code.
IMPORTANT: Do not read from this pdf on test day. Proctors will read the script aloud to
students from Test Day Toolkit

Step 1 of 12
Welcome. Today you’re taking the SAT, an important step on the path to Welcome
college.
Please listen carefully. If you haven’t checked in to the Bluebook
testing app yet, wait until I finish reading this introduction and give
you the start code.
If you’d like to follow along as I read these instructions, click Help and
then Verbal Instructions.
You agreed to follow the rules and keep test content confidential. Test Day Rules
I will dismiss anyone who tries to break the rules, and their scores will
be canceled. They may also be prevented from taking College Board
tests in the future.
Bluebook should be the only application open on your device unless Closing Other
you’re using approved assistive technology. Close all other applications Applications
now. You might need to exit Bluebook first and reopen it when you finish.
Does anyone need to close other applications?
You’ll receive official scores that you can use to apply to college. Scores
If you want to cancel your scores, you have one week from today
to do so at MySAT.org.
The test has 2 sections, with a break in between. About the Scheduled
Bluebook times everyone individually, and it will tell you when it’s time to Break
take your break. Don’t wait for me to dismiss you. Leave your device open.
To take a break at any other time, go to the More menu and click Taking Other Breaks
Unscheduled Break. You will lose testing time if you take an
unscheduled break.
If you have an approved acommodation for breaks as needed,
select Pause instead so you don’t lose testing time.
I’ll come around now to collect prohibited devices and make sure you Devices
followed the Bluebook instructions for clearing your desk.
If you have phones, smartwatches, or other devices, turn them off
before I collect them.
And if you brought a calculator, I'll make sure it's acceptable.
You should have 3 sheets of scratch paper, which I’ll collect after the Scratch Paper
test. Write your full name at the top right corner of each sheet. If you
don’t have 3 sheets, let me know when I come by your desk.
Please give me your attention again. It’s important to be quiet even Answer Student
when you’re not testing because you might start your break and finish Questions
your test at slightly different times than your neighbors.
If you need help at any time, raise your hand and I’ll come over.
Does anyone have a question?
I’ll give you a start code in a moment. When you enter the code and Start Test
click Start Test, your timer will start and you can begin testing.
If you don’t see the start code screen yet, finish checking in to Bluebook.
I’ll read the start code now and write it on the board. Good luck!
