FUEL INSTRUCTIONS
• Identify Fuel Source (tank or tanks) for the generator(s) & boiler(s) they serve. The source should be one interconnected and contiguous system.
Use a separate page for other systems.
• Insert Maximum Supply for the tank(s). Maximum supply should equal the tank(s) volume, including the day tanks and distribution system, at
maximum fill point (not the tank size).
• Insert the Fuel Reorder Point. Fuel reorder point should equal the tank volume that would trigger you to call the fuel vendor for re-supply. This
approximates the lowest potential amount of fuel on-site at any given time.
• Insert the Current Volume (on-hand inventory) at any given point in time to estimate remaining supply levels and help engineering effectively
manage remaining supplies during a disastrous event when re-supply may be delayed.
• Insert the maximum generator fuel consumption rate. Maximum generator fuel consumption rate should assume no load shed and maximum
need for electrical power.
• Insert the minimum generator fuel consumption rate. Minimum generator fuel consumption rate should assume that the facilities staff has shed as
much load as reasonably possible.
• Insert the maximum boiler consumption rate. Maximum boiler consumption rate should equal the rate used when demand for hot water and steam
is the highest.
• Insert the minimum boiler consumption rate. Minimum boiler consumption rate should eqaual the rate used when demand for hot water and steam
is the lowest.
• Evaluate supply level strategies in light of potential gaps as identified by this tool. Adjust par levels and/or ordering strategies as needed.
• Source is only applicable for on-site stored fuel. Piped, natural gas is not applicable.
