The collar is knitted top down with a picot edging, and a knitted I-cord.

The neck opening is knitted as follows:
Cast on (70) 76 (80) 86 (90) sts on circular needle 3mm 60cm.
Knit 14 rows stockinette sts.
Knit stockinette back and forth. All rows start by slipping the 1st stitch purlwise and end with
knitting the last stitch = edge stitches.
Knit stockinette stitch until the collar measures (3,5) 4 (4,5) 5 (5,5) cm, measured from the
increases. increase 1 st (Pick up the bar between 2 sts, and purl the new st tbl.) at the last row =
purl row.
Cord: Cast on 4 sts on double pointed needles 3 mm. *K4. Pull your work to the needle’s other
side (without turning)*, place your yarn behind your work, tighten properly. Repeat from * til *
until the strap measures approx. 65 - 75 cm or has the desired length.
Finishing: Weave in all ends. Fold the neck onto the wrong side, and sew it to the collar. Pull the
cord through. Wash and block. Flatten the picot edging with a steam iron under a moist towel.
