The neck opening is knitted as follows:
Cast on (70) 76 (80) 86 (90) sts on circular needle 3mm 60cm.
Knit 14 rows stockinette sts.

Knit the increases for the collar as follows:

Knit *k3 sts into 1 st (k1, k1 tbl, k1)*, repeat from * til * for the rest of the row
= (210) 228 (240) 258 (270) sts.

Knit stockinette back and forth. All rows start by slipping the 1st stitch purlwise and end with
knitting the last stitch = edge stitches.
Knit stockinette stitch until the collar measures (3,5) 4 (4,5) 5 (5,5) cm, measured from the
increases. increase 1 st (Pick up the bar between 2 sts, and purl the new st tbl.) at the last row =
purl row.

Knit the picot edging as follows:

For the picot edging, use the ”knitted cast on method” (check online for instruction videos or
www.knittingforsif.dk)
*cast on 2 sts into the following st with the knitted cast on, cast off these 2 st, cast off further 6
sts, so in total 8 sts. Slip the st on the right needle back onto the left needle*. Repeat from * to *
until the last st. Cast on 2 sts into the last st with the knitted cast on and cast off these 2 sts. Cut
the yarn. The edge might roll up, but it should stay neatly in place, once the collar is washed and
steam ironed under a moist towel.

Cord: Cast on 4 sts on double pointed needles 3 mm. *K4. Pull your work to the needle’s other
side (without turning)*, place your yarn behind your work, tighten properly. Repeat from * til *
until the strap measures approx. 65 - 75 cm or has the desired length.

Finishing: Weave in all ends. Fold the neck onto the wrong side, and sew it to the collar. Pull the
cord through. Wash and block. Flatten the picot edging with a steam iron under a moist towel.
