Read the text below and choose the correct answer to the following question!

(1)A normal Indonesian-style family meal consists (terdiri atas) of white rice served with three or four
accompanying (menemani) dishes. When guests are present, and on special occasions, (kesempatan) the
number of dishes served is much greater and in more abundant quantities. In keeping with Indonesian
hospitality, a wide variety and choice of dishes should be provided to honor a guest. Whatever is not
eaten is never wasted. Guests may be encouraged to take home some of the leftover food and plastic bags
or containers are always on hand for this purpose. The remainder goes back to the kitchen, to be eaten
by domestic staff or to be reheated (dipanaskan kembali) and served again the next day. Indonesians are
honored if foreigners like their food and are adventurous to try new dishes.

(2)Rice is the staple (pokok) food of Indonesians and they are happy to consume it two to three times a
day. In fact there is an expression: “Kalau belum makan nasi, belum makan” (if you haven't eaten rice,
you haven't eaten), which implies that no matter what snacks you have consumed, you have not had a
proper meal until you have filled your tummy with rice in some form or another. White rice is preferred,
(lebih disukai) rather than unpolished (kasar) brown rice, even by those who are aware of the loss of
nutritional value in the processing. Ideally rice should be boiled then steamed, but most modern
Indonesians find it very convenient (nyaman/mudah) to use an electric rice cooker.

(3)For special celebrations or ritual meals called selamatan, nasi kuning (yellow rice) is traditionally
served, usually in the form of a tumpeng, a cone shaped mound of yellow colored rice served on a large
platter elaborately garnished (dihiasi) and accompanied by side dishes. The rice is cooked in santan
(coconut milk) flavored with spices including turmeric, which gives the yellow color. Other special rice
dishes include nasi uduk (rice cooked in santan but without turmeric). This is a richer, more aromatic
form of white rice and is served with accompanying side dishes. In West Java the Sundanese people serve
cooked white rice wrapped up in cylindrical shape in banana leaf. This is called nasi timbel, and after
opening the rice parcel the banana leaf becomes the “plate” on which to put selections of accompanying
dishes such as grilled or fried fish, chicken, cooked or raw vegetables and sambal (chili paste).

(4)Each region of Indonesia has its own specialties and there is great variety in the cuisine available. One
of the most famous is West Sumatran or Padang food, which uses a lot of chili, spices and santan. Padang
dishes include rendang, kalio (similar to rendang but the sauce is not reduced and thickened), gulai (a
spicy curry), kari (curry), dendeng balado (thin sliced and crisp fried beef with red chilies). Padang food
is Indonesia’s version of fast food.

(1) The Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) feels like a stepdaughter who has been
ignored by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic. Retailers (pengecar) consider that so far
government policies have never favored corporations. General Chairperson of Aprindo Roy N Mandey
said that so far the government considers corporations to have large reserves of funds. (cadangan dana)
Hence, (karena itu) according to him, the government has never paid special attention.

(2) "Often we see that in the Emergency PPKM there is no assistance at all for the supermarket or mall
sector corporations in this case. Why? Because the situation we are looking at is the lower sector. While
we have to keep the lower sector awake, there are workers, " he said in a virtual discussion, Thursday, July
22. Furthermore, said Roy, so far the government's policy has only been thinking about the trade sector
of the small community, without paying attention to corporate entrepreneurs. In fact, said Roy, if the
corporation collapses, the impact will be even greater. "If a corporation falls, the impact will be greater."

(3) But in fact now it is the lower sector that is being helped. We don't have a problem with aid for them,
it must be helped, but the big ones must also be helped," he said. According to Roy, the government also
provides assistance to factories, one of which is the food and beverage sector. However, he
assessed,(menilai) the assistance will not have any impact because the downstream (hilir) sector is not
maintained. "The upstream food and beverage manufacturing sector is always subsidized by the
government. What does it mean if the downstream sector is not maintained, there is no condition given
so that it can continue to operate? This is nothing. The upstream sector (sektor hulu) is assisted by the
downstream sector, (sektor hilir) and the product is eaten alone by the upstream sector which sells to
downstream consumers," he explained.

(4) Roy said the government should also pay attention to corporations, especially the self-service sector.
Because, if left to struggle alone, corporations can go bankrupt and close. Investors can also leave. "If
large corporations are not helped when they go bankrupt, close and go bankrupt, investors leave," he
said.

(1) It is normal to lose up (kehilangan) to about 100 hairs a day on one's comb, brush, in the sink or on
the pillow. This is the result of the normal hair growth cycle. Hairs will grow for a few years, then rest for
a few months, shed, and regrow. Telogen is the name for the resting stage of the hair growth cycle. A
telogen effluvium is when some stress causes hair roots to be pushed prematurely into the resting state.
Telogen effluvium can be acute or chronic.

(2) If there is some "shock to the system", as many as 70% of the scalp hairs (rambut kulit kepala) are
then shed in large numbers about 2 months after the "shock". This sudden increase in hair loss, usually
described as the hair coming out in handfuls, (genggaman) is acute telogen effluvium. This is a different
problem than gradual genetic hair thinning. However, this can be seen in the less common chronic
telogen effluvium, only after a significant amount of hair has already been lost.

(3) A considerable number of different causes for telogen effluvium exist. Among the common causes are
high fevers, childbirth, severe infections, severe chronic illness, severe psychological stress, major surgery
or illnesses, over or under active thyroid gland, crash diets with inadequate protein, and a variety of
medications. Most hair loss from medications is this type and causes include retinoids, beta blockers,
calcium channel blockers, antidepressants, and NSAIDS (including ibuprofen).

(4) Typically, abrupt diffuse (menyebar tiba-tiba) hair loss is noticed several weeks to several months
after the incident has initiated (dimulai) the biologic program for hair loss. While the most often
noticed hair loss occurs on the scalp, some individuals may also notice hair loss elsewhere on the body.
Significant hair shedding usually occurs when shampooing, combing, or even when gently manipulating
the hair. Shedding usually slowly decreases over 6 to 8 months once the cause for the hair loss is no
longer present. As some of the causes represent ongoing problems, it is important to determine the likely
cause when possible and take appropriate measures to prevent continued hair loss.

Read the following passage carefully and choose the best answer.

(1)The new tier adds streaming 4K Plus content where it’s available, plus offline downloads and
unlimited simultaneous streams on your home network. YouTube TV’s 4K Plus package will add an
extra $20 a month to the base subscription price. The introductory price is $10 a month for the first
year, and you’ll get a free month, which should give you enough time to gauge (mengukur) whether the
feature is worth it in the long term.
(2)Everyone else who is a YouTube TV subscriber will get 5.1 Dolby audio capabilities, rolling out to
select devices over the coming weeks. YouTube TV says it’s been one of the biggest feature requests from
users. There are also a few new live sports features coming down the pipeline, including the ability to
jump to different segments within a recorded broadcast and a medal count at a glance, which will be
handy if you’re tracking this summer’s Olympics.

(3)Unlike cable, the customers also have to factor in the cost of the internet, which they have to upgrade
since their entire household works from home. Television time at the end of the day adds to that
bandwidth allowance, which is why we ultimately decided to fork over the cash for the unlimited
package.

(4)At the very least, YouTube TV can incentivize customers with its offline downloads. Its direct
competitors, Sling TV and Hulu, either don’t offer downloads or only allow it for select titles. YouTube
told The Verge that you could download anything recorded from your cloud DVR on the base channel
package to the mobile app for offline playback. However, that doesn’t include premium content, so if
you were hoping to bypass HBO’s lack of downloadable video, you’re out of luck for now.

(1)Shoppers washed their hands and sterilized their smartphones in the streets of Tokyo's posh Ginza
district on Saturday using handwashing stations that a Japanese start-up hopes will revolutionize access
to clean water and better hygiene.

(2)WOTA Corp set up 20 of its WOSH machines near popular Ginza stores in an initiative (upaya)
with a district association aimed at encouraging shoppers to wash their hands to prevent the spread of
the coronavirus.

(3)The machines don't require connection to running water and don't use fresh and waste water tanks.
Instead they recycle the water through a three-stage process of membrane filtration, chlorine and deep
ultraviolet irradiation.

(4)They also have a device that cleans smartphones through 20-30 seconds of ultraviolet light exposure
while users are washing their hands, since touching a dirty smartphone would otherwise negate their
handwashing efforts.

(5)The firm had already been developing the machine in part to alleviate long lines at rest rooms when
the COVID-19 crisis hit early this year, Chief Executive Yosuke Maeda told Reuters.

(6)"Amid the impact of COVID-19 we thought we had to implement this as soon as possible," Maeda
said. "So we sped up development and got things moving to have it in December in time for the third
wave of the coronavirus.

(7)Maeda hopes the smartphone feature in particular will transform hygiene habits. "We thought if it
had the smartphone sterilization function, maybe people who never wash their hands will start doing
so," he said.

(1)New European research has found a link between fathers who play with their kids from a young age
and a child’s ability to control their behavior and emotions as they get older.

(2)Carried out by researchers at the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge, U.K. and the
LEGO Foundation, Denmark, the new research looked at 78 studies published over the last 40 years to
find out more about how fathers play with their children in the first three years of their life, how it
differs from playtime with mothers, and what effect this playtime might have on children later on.

(3)The findings, published in the journal Developmental Review, showed that on average, most fathers
play with their child every day. There were also many similarities between the ways moms and dads play
with their young children, but fathers did tend to engage in more boisterous, physical play with their
kids, such as tickling and chasing them and giving piggyback rides. Even when playing with babies, dads
were more physical, although at this young age that meant just picking them up or helping them to
gently raise their limbs.

(4)The researchers also found that in almost all of the studies they looked at, there was a consistent link
between father-child play and a child’s ability to control their feelings as they grew up. Children who
enjoyed playtime with their dad were less likely to show hyperactivity or emotional and behavioral
problems, more likely to be able to control feelings of aggression, and less likely to lash out at other
children during fall-outs.

(5)However, the authors stress that children who grow up only with their mother are not necessarily
missing out on developing these skills.

(6)“One of the things that our research points to time and again is the need to vary the types of play
children have access to, and mothers can, of course, support physical play with young children as well,”
Ramchandani added.

D Equable (setara)

E Enthusiastic (antusias)

20. Which of the following most accurately sums up the main idea of the passage?

A Mothers need to vary the types of play with their children in order to develop their ability to control
their emotional and behavioral problems.

B Children who grow up only with their mother are not necessarily missing out on developing their
ability to control their emotional and behavioral problems.

C There is no similarity between how mothers and fathers play with their children, but the result is
children who often play with their fathers are able to control themselves as they get older.

D Kids tend to engage in physical plays with their fathers rather than their moms, and it turns
out that it is impactful for them as they can control their behavior and emotions when they get
older.

E Children who enjoy play with their dad were less likely to show hyperactivity or emotional and
behavioral problems, they are able to control their feelings as they get older.
