Background

It has been noted that electricity outages have been persisting in Zimbabwe for the past

decade. In July when people need electricity the most for various purposes, the farmers

also need it for irrigating wheat and other crops. There is need for alternative sources of

energy for different households' activities.

Task for learners.

Learners to find out the most energy consuming activities in households/homes in the area

and state two [2]

Learners to research /investigate the most widely used source of energy in Epworth and

record it using any statistical method of your choice [5]

State any two disadvantages of any one source of energy recorded above (2]

Suggest a few measures that can be taken to address energy problems faced by people in

Epworth [2)

Explain the advantages of using renewable sources of energy [2]
