Dynamics of Motor

• During transient period speed, torque, and current change from one
steady state value to another.
• Electric motors undergo transient operation during starting, braking,
speed control, speed reversal etc.
• Based on the knowledge of the behaviour of drives under transient
conditions, the motor capacity, requisite power control equipment,
design of control circuit can be designed to reduce losses.

If Bw is considered as part of load torque
• The motor is stable if the transient beaviour die down with time.
Stability
Machine is stable if:
