Hello Virginia,

I have read your discussion on the role of the structure of a joint on its stability

and the relationship between stability and mobility. The structure of a joint is essential for

its stability because joints provide structural support and movement that determines a

person's independence and quality of life. I agree that the joint plays a significant role in

mobility. Herzog et al., (2022) study identifies the relationship between joint stability and

mobility. Depending on the type of joint, the range of motion determines the stability of a

joint as those that are less mobile are much stronger and provide more stability. Based on

Herzog et al., (2022) study findings, it can be concluded that joints with a broader and

wider range of motion are less stable. Therefore, shoulder dislocations are the most

common type of joint injury because the shoulder joint has high mobility and thus less

stability leading to shoulder joint dislocation becoming the most common type of joint

injury.
