Your mobilization date is approaching and we look forward to welcoming you to Qatargas.

To ensure your arrival goes smoothly please take note of the following accommodation details:

• On arrival in Doha you will initially be accommodated in the hotel for 5 – 7 days. During
your 1st day HR induction, our Employee Engagement team will then further discuss with you
regarding details of your hotel stay extension.

• For Doha based employees, further information will be explained by our Employee
Engagement team, related to the Housing allowance, as per Qatargas policy.

• For Ras Laffan based employees, on receipt of your Resident Permit (subject to availability),
we will allocate your permanent accommodation. Permanent accommodation is allocated
on availability and suitability basis in line with Qatargas Policy (subject to policy change):
§ Semi Furnished (Apartment or Villa): includes all major kitchen appliances, curtains,
fixtures and fittings, air conditioning.

• You will be entitled to a ‘Soft Furnishing Grant’ to assist in purchasing soft furnishings such
as beddings, crockery, cutlery etc. Subject to policy, the rates are:

Single Status Married Status (accompanied)

4,000QR 6,000QR

The Soft Furnishings Grant amount will be deducted from the allocated Furniture Grant.

• You will also be entitled to a ‘Furnishing Grant’ to assist in purchasing furniture items,
subject to policy the rates are:

Non Senior Staff

Single Status Married Status (accompanied)

16,500QR 27,000QR

Senior Staff

Single Status Married Status (accompanied)

33,000 QR 55,000QR


Therefore, please ensure that you do not ship any large furniture items until you are allocated
permanent accommodation. Failure to do this will result in such goods being held up in customs at
the expense of the employee.

Please note the following:

Ensure that shipment of household items to Qatar do not arrive before you join Qatargas. We are
unable to clear such items from the Port Authority without your presence. Unforeseen delays can
result in substantial charges being imposed.

“Please be aware that you will be unable to avail of this full allowance until your family arrives in
Qatar. For single status employees, this allowance can be utilized immediately”.

Once the Shipment arrives, you should clear it from the Port Authority within (3) three working days.

Please note that you are entitled to be reimbursed for the cost of shipment from the point of origin
to Qatar on engagement and Doha to point of origin on termination. This is defined as being “door
to door” service and includes insurance costs, packing charges, and transport to and from the
airport/port, clearance charges and delivery in Qatar or point of origin up to the limit of the
established rates retained by HR. Duty fees are not covered.

The airfreight or shipping charges are paid against an expense report with receipts as supporting
documentation.

Note:
The above Shipping Capped Rate is calculated by considering your family status. Until your family
joins you and are residing here in Qatar, you will be regarded as a single status
employee. Accordingly, you will not be eligible to be reimbursed for the full capped rate shown
above until your family arrives here in Qatar.

You are eligible to be reimbursed for any excess baggage as a charge against your unaccompanied
airfreight allowance. (This will reduce the amount reimbursable for your air freight


shipment). Please note that the time frame required to submit your shipment of goods claims is
within the first 18 months of your joining date with Qatargas.

Please retain all mobilization expense receipts as these can also be reimbursed on arrival, e/g taxi to
the airport, meal at the airport etc.
