GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1 . The exam aims to make the student demonstrate a thorough understanding of shear and moment computations
and diagrams.
2. The exam aims to enhance the student’s understanding of the usage of spreadsheet applications to compute
complex and varying problems.

DISCUSSION

Spreadsheet applications are an essential part of the modern engineering profession. It is a widely utilized software which
is versatile in all aspects in the field of engineering. One of the best applications of this is through the creation of diagrams
and computation of problems. This output targets of all those objectives and ensures that the student meets the required
outcomes of the subject.

PROCEDURE
1. Compute and understand the sample problems given below.
These sample problems will be used by the students to check their spreadsheet application for
accuracy. During checking, the instructor will input random numbers and check the accuracy of the
work. (See rubrics for Computational Accuracy)
2. Create a spreadsheet application that will be able to solve ANY loadings given. (See rubrics for type of
loadings).
