Note:

(1) For Science Practical Examination, allocation of classes to various shifts, reporting and dismissal times will be
announced by the various Science Subject Coordinators to the students prior to the exam.
(2) There will be no lesson during the assessment days.
(3) For students with morning paper, you will report for morning assembly as usual and proceed for your exam after
that. For students with only afternoon paper, report to school at least 45 minutes before the commencement of the
paper and be at the exam venue at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the paper.
(4) Actual seating arrangement will be posted outside the venues a day prior to the exam.
(5) For venues with two or more papers starting at the same time, students are to be seated with your subject group to
facilitate distribution and collection of paper.

SCHOOL EXAMINATION RULES & INSTRUCTIONS
Before the Start of the Examination
1. Candidates are to ensure that their calculators are approved for use by the Ministry of Education before
the commencement of the examination period.

During the Examination


2. Candidates are to be seated according to their class register numbers. They must be at their seats at least
15 minutes before the start of each paper and place their EZ-link cards or NRIC at the top right-hand
corner of their desks throughout the examination.
3. All bags/files are to be placed outside the examination room. Nothing should be left under the desks.
4. While in the examination room, candidates are NOT PERMITTED to have in their possession, any
unauthorised equipment or materials even if the candidates do not intend to use them. Examples of
prohibited items include enclosed instructions, fact sheet, glossary of mathematical terms, conversion
table or mathematical formula in the mathematical instrument box, study notes, exam question papers,
including those of other subjects. Any unauthorised electronic, communication, entertainment or gaming
devices capable of capturing, storing, displaying and/or transmitting visual, audio or verbal information are
similarly prohibited. Examples include mobile phones, cameras, tablets, and smart wrist watches, glasses,
pen with image capturing capabilities.
5. The use of correction fluid and staplers is NOT ALLOWED during the examination.
6. Candidates must be equipped with their own stationery, including mathematical sets and calculators.
Borrowing from others is NOT ALLOWED during the examination. Candidates must use black or blue
pens with indelible ink that cannot be removed by friction and 2B pencils for shading of Optical
Answer Sheets.

7. A candidate must inform the invigilator immediately if


(a) he is given a wrong question paper.
(b) he has a question paper that does not have the number of questions and/or printed pages specified
on the cover page.
(c) he is not issued with all the materials which are stated on the question papers, such as maps,
chemistry data pages and formula booklets.
8. Candidates are NOT ALLOWED to begin writing/reading until they are told to do so. They should stop
writing immediately when the invigilator gives the signal at the end of the examination. They are not
allowed to leave until all the scripts have been collected.
9. Candidates are to use their time wisely. They are expected to stay in the examination room for the whole
duration of the paper.
10. Candidates should arrange their scripts in the right order and tie them together. They must remain seated
and silent while the answer scripts are being collected. All answer scripts to be submitted to the invigilator
at the point of collection. NO scripts will be accepted after that. Students are NOT ALLOWED to remove
from the room any used or unused exam stationery.
11. Calculators may be used in some papers. Only acceptable models of calculators can be brought into the
examination rooms. No allowance will be made should a calculator fail to function properly during the
examination. All candidates are to reset their graphic calculators for inspection by the invigilators prior to
the commencement of the papers.
12. Candidates are NOT PERMITTED to consume any form of food in the examination room. However,
candidates are allowed to drink water in the examination room. Candidates are advised to place their
water bottles on the floor next to their seats.
13. All absentees must produce a valid Medical Certificate to be given to their Civics Tutors immediately when
they return from their sick leave. Letters from parents are NOT ACCEPTABLE.
14. The School takes a serious view of DISHONESTY during the examination. Errant pupils will be barred
from the examination and will be deemed to have failed the paper and/or the entire examination.
15. (Train disruption) In the situation of candidates affected by train disruption, candidates are to inform their
Civics Tutors of the situation and location. If candidates could report to school before the end of the paper,
they will be given the full duration to complete the paper. Candidates to report to General Office when they
arrive at school.
