B. Deactivation of the SATCOM Antenna
WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO MAINTENANCE WORK WITHIN A RADIUS OF 7 METERS (23 FEET)
AROUND AND ABOVE THE SATCOM ANTENNA, MAKE SURE THAT THE ANTENNA IS
DE-ENERGIZED. THE ANTENNA USES HIGH POWER WHEN IT TRANSMITS AND CAN
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(1) Do the deactivation of the SATCOM antenna for maintenance

C. Open, safety and tag the circuit breaker(s) that follow(s). Use the SAFETY CLIP - CIRCUIT BREAKER as
necessary.

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the VHF Antenna 4RC1
(1) Remove the sealant from the heads of the screws (6) with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(2) Remove the sealant from the base of the antenna (1) and the fuselage structure with a SCRAP
ER - NON METALLIC.
(3) Remove the screws (6) from the antenna (1).
(4) Lift the antenna (1) until you can see the coaxial cable connector (4).
(5) Disconnect the coaxial cable connector (4) from the antenna connector (2).
(6) Safety the coaxial cable (5). Put Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material Ref. 05RDA1) aroun
d the coaxial cable (5) and attach it to the fuselage.
(7) Put the CAP - BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(8) Remove and discard the O-ring (3) from the antenna (1).

B. Removal of VHF Antenna 4RC2
(1) Remove the sealant from the heads of the screws (6) and (7) with the SCRAPER - NON METAL
LIC.
(2) Remove the sealant from the bottom of the antenna (1) and the fuselage structure with the SC
RAPER - NON METALLIC.
(3) Remove the screws (6) and (7) from the antenna (1):
(a) Record the positions of the screws (6) and (7) for the installation procedure.
(4) Lift the antenna (1) until you can see the coaxial cable connector (4).
(5) Disconnect the coaxial cable connector (4) from the antenna connector (2).
(6) Safety the coaxial cable (5) as follows:
(a) Apply the Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material Ref. 05RDA1) around the coaxial ca
ble (5).
