You have had a class discussion about fiction and how fictional characters can influence
teenagers. Write a 300-word essay describing your favourite fictional character.

Question II (25 points)

You have recently seen a poster, advertising a new Astronomy Club in your town, and you are
quite interested in joining it. However, there are a few things you would like to know more
about. Write a 150-180-word letter to the Club manager asking for information concerning:

 calendar of meetings
 ‘Adopt a star’ programme
 opportunities to try out new equipment
 club newsletter subscription.

The Origin of Spas

Traditionally, spas were spaces which had a spring of mineral water, where people who were
sick went to recover from an illness or (1)……….a disease. Spas were developed

Roman baths could accommodate up to 6,000 bathers and had restaurants, sports centres,
