OVERVIEW
OVERVIEW
Preface
King Kong Cash is a new 4-level progressive link from )

Atronic. It is a licensed product from UNIVERSAL Stu d

dios. e

The game concept of King Kong Cash is a successor of b

CASH FEVER™, with an improved bonus concept. When

L

entering the King Kong Cash Bonus, the player has to P

choose a scene from the movie to reveal 5, 7 or 10 A

free games (special reelstrip & special symbols). (

Depending on the amount of credits won during this n

free game session, one out of 4 jackpots will be o

awarded. Additionaly a mystery trigger randomly t

awards credits or a King Kong Cash Bonus entry. a

King Kong Cash is driven by Atronic's unique internal, g

in-machine, progressive controller (APL™). This gives i

the operator the option to operate each link without n

any other equipment or infrastructure. o

In addition King Kong Cash can be operated based on d

any SAS based progressive controller/system locally n

or multi-site. The setup for system based installations a

is described in a seperate document named p

OVERVIEW

GENERAL CONFIGURATION NOTES

When configuring a King Kong Cash installation, there
are a few things to consider: )

Progressive Calculation e

The King Kong Cash progressive parameters are a

calculated by means of the Atronic Progressive b

Calculation Sheet. During order processing you

L

received a copy of this calculation sheet which P

determines the parameters for a particular King Kong A

Cash installation. To avoid incorrect payout (

percentages, please do not use any other values than n

stated in this document. If an alteration of the pro o

gressive parameters becomes necessary, please ask

t

your local sales represantative for a recalculation. a

Base Values g

The base values of the lower three progressive jackpot i

levels is not adjustable, as they are essential elements n

of the paytable. The base value of the highest pro o

gressive jackpot level has to be configured during set C

up (see also section Jackpot Configuration on page d

29). The excact value is stated in the Atronic Pro n

gressive Calculation Sheet. Recommended values are: a

• Configuration Code 2001: 100.000 credits u

• Configuration Code 2002: 100.000 credits e

• Configuration Code 2003: 125.000 credits S

Configuration Code h

The Configuration Code is set during the initial setup s

of each King Kong Cash game (see also section Machine a

Setup / Initial Setup on page 27). It determines the C

base values and the trigger values of the 3 lower pro g

gressive jackpot levels (minor, major, grand) and the n

trigger frequency of the King Kong Cash Bonus. Do o

not use any other Configuration Codes than stated in K

the Atronic Progressive Calculation Sheet. g

Jackpots Handpays K

The threshold level for jackpot handpays is determined

by the Celebration Limit setting. A win that exceeds
this limit will trigger a jackpot handpay independent
from the progressive jackpot level that was hit. See
also section Machine Configuration / Celebration Limit
on page 37 or the corresponding Software manual.

SETUP

ATRONIC PROGRESSIVE LINK™

What is APL?
The Game of Life™ links use Atronic Progressive Link™ )

(APL) technology to link the participating gaming d

machines. APL provides a very simple way to link Atronic e

games to a local area progressive. a

Setting up a progressive using the APL is quite easy

L

as the internal progressive system is operated via the P

Commboard of the machine. By simply linking directly A

from one machine Commboard to another, up to 20 (

King Kong Cash games can be linked to a progressive. n

The APL requires no external controller. o

The APL is designed to be flexible and user friendly and a

operates with one machine acting as the master and r

the other machines in the link as slaves. The decision g

about which game is the master is not pre determined i

and can therefore be selected via a dipswitch on the n

Commboard. More importantly if the master machine o

fails, another machine in the link can be appointed as C

the master via the dipswitch so no data is lost and d

the progressive remaines active. n

The entire set up of the progressive jackpot and p

configuration for all the machines in the link is carried u

out on the master machine via a connection between e

a PC and the main board. S

The progressive jackpot is automatically displayed via h

a on screen meter (utilising e-motion™ dual screen s

technology) and one or more plasma screens. a

Minimum Link Size: 4 machines K

Recommended Link Size: 8 - 12 machines g

MACHINE SETUP
This section describes how to carry out a RAM Reset
and the Initial Setup which is required to configure )

basic machine settings and carry out jackpot d

configuration. e

Overview b

Atronic machines usually come configured as specified

L

with the order. However it may be necessary to re P

configure basic machine settings, such as A

denomination, metering, paytable, etc. These settings (

can not be altered during normal operation, as they n

require a machine reinitialisation for technical or o

jurisdictional reasons. Applying new progressive jackpot t

settings also requires a RAM Reset. a

To re-configure basic machine and jackpot settings: g

1. Perform a RAM Reset n

This will clear all machine data, statistics and set o

tings, including progressive jackpot configuration. C

2. Carry out the Initial Setup n

After a RAM Reset has been performed, the ma a

chine automatically enters the Initial Setup menu. p

The Initial Setup allows to configure all basic ma u

chine setting. e

3. Jackpot Configuration
/

After the Initial Setup has been carried out, it is h

necessary to carry out the progressive jackpot con s

figuration. Do not insert credits before the jack a

pot configuration is done. C

In an APL link the jackpot configuration has to be g

carried out at the APL master machine only. The o

jackpot configuration is then transfered to all lin K

ked APL slave machines.

Celebration Limit n

The celebration limit determines the threshold for o

jackpot handpays. A win exceeding the celebration limit t

initiates a win celebration and needs to be a

Important: A progressive jackpot win does i

not automatically initiate a handpay! The win n

in order to initiate a jackpot handpay. C

You may adjust the celebration limit settings to meets n

the requirement of your operations. a

CHANGE APL MASTER MACHINE

This section describes how to change the APL master
machine in an APL link. This may be necessary, if the )

primary master machine is defective or if the Media d

Controller is to be connected to another machine. e

1. Open the Jackpot Statistics menu (see section b

"Jackpot Statistics") and write down all values.

L

2. Power down the primary APL master machine. A

All machines in the link display "Master not ready" (

and will be locked until a new APL master is confi n

gured. o

3. Remove the Alink cabling from the primary master a

machine and run the Alink cable to the next machi r

ne to close the Alink connection. See section "Cab g

ling" for details. i

4. Remove the cabling to the Media Controller and o

the OH Displayboard from the commboard of the C

primary master machine. If necessary you can now d

remove the primary master machine from the floor. n

5. Power down the machine which is to be configured p

as the new master machine. u

6. Set commboard DIP switch S5/4 to ON at the new S

master machine. Install the OH Displayboard and

/

connect the Media Controller as described in sec h

tion "Connect Media Controller". s

7. Power up the new master machine. C

When the new master machine is up, the entire g

link should be operational. If any error message is n

displayed, please refer to the section "APL Trou o

bleshooting". K

8. Open the Jackpot Statistics menu and verify all n

jackpot values. K
