BULK EMAILS FROM UCO- Thanks to UCO President Dave Israel’s

INFORMATION FORWARD INITIATIVE, CV unit owners can receive
notices and bulletins from UCO: meeting agendas, emergency notices, this
weekly report from me, and other items of community interest. If you have a
computer or a smartphone, you should be on this mailing list. Registering
for UCO bulk emails is easy; go to the CV BLOG (https://village-blog-and-
chat.blogspot.com), and fill in the subscription box at the top left corner of
the page (see attached picture). Occasionally, CV unit owners accidentally
unsubscribe themselves, and will need to use the CV BLOG subscription
box to get themselves back on the mailing list.

CV COMMUNITY TV CHANNELS- UCO Recording Secretary JoAnne

Robinson has been very busy with reviving our community television
channels, 590, 591, and 592. These channels broadcast general
community information (garbage pickup schedule, security phone numbers,
club info, etc.), and recordings of UCO meetings, including the monthly
UCO Delegate Assembly. Recordings of UCO meetings can also be
accessed from the CV BLOG:

LANDSCAPING- On 8/10, Seacrest Services treated black olive trees

along the main roads of CV, to address pavement staining that is caused
by a caterpillar that infests these trees and drops their waste onto the
pavement. This treatment happens quarterly. On 8/10, I met with a
manager at Seacrest Services. We made an inspection of the property, and
created a punch list of areas that require attention. One area of particular
concern is stormwater catch basins that become clogged with leaves when
the landscape workers trim hedges and mow grass. Especially during
hurricane season, it is important that these basins be kept clear.
WATER VALVE REPLACEMENT PROJECT- PBC Water Utilities has
resumed work on this years-long project, which involves installation of new
water shut off valves. The object is to isolate smaller groups of buildings, to
reduce the time needed to make repairs to water pipes, and to reduce the
number of units that are affected by water service shut downs. Last week,
these valve installations happened at Hastings and Salisbury sections,
requiring water service to be turned off for several hours. This week, valve
installations will happen at Golfs Edge, Greenbrier, and Kingswood
sections. PBCWU hangs doorknob notices at all units that will experience
water service interruptions. CV unit owners can also check the PBCWU
hotline for service bulletins: 561-740-4600, option 1, then option 2.

DUMPSTER NEWS- Last week, I received reports that a dumpster at

Chatham U was unserviced. On Sunday, I took a closer look at this
dumpster and discovered the reason for the lapse- it was filled with
concrete, ceramic tile, and other demolition materials. This made the
dumpster too heavy for the garbage truck to lift. This dumpster will remain
unserviced until this material is removed. The Association’s President and
Property Manager were notified. According to Chatham U residents, there
are two units undergoing renovations at this Association, so it is a good bet
that the demo material came from one or both of these units.

Waste Pro does not pick up construction/demolition material for free. Unit
owners who are renovating their units must make arrangements for these
materials to be removed from the property. When unit owners fail to make
these arrangements, the Association must authorize charges for special
pickups, and can back charge the responsible unit owners, if known.
