LAC Session Reflection

The LAC Session conducted was very good refresher to us teachers, who already in the
service for a couple of years. I am very grateful we had this kind of LAC Sessions since it gave us
knowledge on what to prepare and support our portfolio for RPMS, especially which we are in
pandemic time.

First, it made me realized how important the RPMS tool for upgrading our knowledge and
skills as a teacher. Being a teacher in this pandemic time is not easy especially in reaching out our
students.

Second, we need this for our professional growth. This will serve as a tool for promotion;
we will not be promoted unless we reached the qualification standard for a higher position.

Lastly, we must apply what we have learned in this LAC session for us to be successful
teachers. For us to be successful teachers, we must apply appropriate teaching strategies that are
suit to our learners needs.

REFLECTION NOTES ON TEACHING PRACTICE DEMONSTRATION FROM LAC MEETINGS

Objective: The objective of today's LAC meeting was to demonstrate and share our teaching
practices, seeking feedback and insights from our colleagues.

Key Takeaways:
1. Interactive Elements: The demonstration showcased the importance of incorporating
interactive elements into our lessons. The use of multimedia resources, group activities, and
discussions kept students engaged and active throughout the session.

2. Clear Learning Objectives: One of the strengths highlighted during the demonstration was the
clarity of learning objectives. The teachers effectively communicated the goals of the lesson to the
students, enabling them to understand what was expected of them and how the content related
to their overall learning outcomes.

3. Differentiation: The demonstration exemplified the implementation of differentiation strategies

to address the diverse learning needs of students. By offering various approaches and activities,
the teachers ensured that each student had the opportunity to succeed and stay challenged.

4. Formative Assessment: It was evident that formative assessment techniques were well-
integrated into the teaching practices. Regular checks for understanding allowed the teachers to
gauge students' comprehension and adapt their instruction accordingly.

5. Student-Centered Approach: The teaching practices demonstrated were centered around the
students' needs and interests. The teachers actively encouraged student participation and
incorporated their perspectives into the lessons, fostering a positive learning environment.

6. Time Management: A notable aspect of the demonstration was the effective use of time. The
teachers kept the lessons well-paced, ensuring that all essential content was covered without
rushing or compromising understanding.

7. Reflection and Adaptation: During the post-demonstration discussions, teachers showcased a

willingness to reflect on their teaching methods critically. They were open to feedback and
suggestions from their colleagues, displaying a commitment to continuous improvement.

8. Incorporation of Technology: The use of technology was integrated seamlessly into the lessons,
enhancing the learning experience and making the content more accessible and interactive for the
students.
Areas for Growth:

1. Inclusive Practices: While the demonstration included some differentiation techniques, there is
room to explore more inclusive practices that address the needs of students with diverse
backgrounds and learning styles.

2. Student Feedback: Teachers can consider incorporating more opportunities for student
feedback during and after lessons. This will provide valuable insights into students' perceptions
and understanding of the content.

3. Authentic Assessment: Exploring ways to incorporate more authentic assessment methods

could provide a clearer picture of students' application and understanding of the concepts taught.

4. Deeper Engagement: Although the lessons were engaging, exploring ways to foster even deeper
engagement and critical thinking among students would be beneficial.

Action Steps:

1. Each teacher will review their teaching practices based on the feedback received during the
demonstration and make necessary adjustments to their upcoming lessons.

2. Teachers will collaborate to brainstorm and implement more inclusive teaching strategies to
cater to the needs of all learners.

3. The integration of authentic assessment methods will be researched and discussed in

subsequent LAC meetings to ensure effective implementation.

4. A follow-up LAC meeting will be scheduled to share the outcomes of the action steps and
further refine teaching practices collectively.

Overall, today's demonstration and subsequent reflection in the LAC meeting proved to be a
valuable exercise for professional growth and fostering a collaborative culture among teachers. By
continuing to learn from each other and implementing best practices, we aim to create a more
enriching and effective learning experience for our students.
