What I Need to Know

In the English language, we will encounter words with the


same sounds but different spelling and meaning. We need to know
how these words are used in the sentence to know their meaning.

With this module, you will explore the meaning of homonyms


and how these words are used in the sentence. This has been
carefully designed and written to make your learning
meaningful and productive. It has been prepared to enhance
the potentials and interests of Grade 3 learners like you.

Specifically, at the end of this module, you are expected to:

a. identify the homonyms in a sentence; and,


b. use correct homonyms in a sentence or paragraph.

word's meaning is actually different from one another. And, you
call it homonyms.

What Is It

Homonyms are words that sound the same but spell differently
and mean different things.

Here are some examples of homonyms: know and no, two


and too, weigh and way, wood and would, right and write.
